• "Loved It"

    14 February 2022

"The service and staff friendliness was terrific. The location of the pool is truly great! Food was also wonderful with a couple of areas which can be improved upon. I liked making my own toastie for lunch. The old 'tube" TV gives an old feel to what is a very pleasant room. A few possible areas to improve:- The Sushi was a great idea and well prepared but had become warm which made it a little unpleasant. Keep the plate on ice?- The scrambled eggs were served in a closed server, I think heated by water. The water condenses out into the eggs and makes them unpleasant. Best never to close scrambled eggs or better still make to order.- The mashed potato was "gluggy"- The Span Speck was not ripe- A small note in the room with things like check out times, where to get pool towels, lunch and breakfast times etc. would be nice.- The one small female chef really struggled to carve the meat, hacked at it. I felt she needed more height to be effective, a step for her maybe?I hope this is constructive because we really enjoyed our stay and willreturn."

  • "A very marvelous wonderful stay at your hotel"

    25 May 2017

"Thank you very much for a marvellous wonderful stay at your hotel. The accommodation and of course the views and the mountain was spectacular.

Weve made beautiful unforgettable memories.

Just a small observation on your directions to get to the hotel. The train tracks you mention are virtually invisible( the tracks are actually covered by tar) and in fact are part of the left turn opposite the Engen service station. Quite misleading and they are so easily missed. I suggest you leave the train tracks out completely and or just say after crossing the river, about 800m, turn to your right at the Cathedral Peak sign.

We will certainly tell all our friends of THE magnificent Cathedral Peak Hotel.

Thank you so much.

Kind regards,

Philippa and Giulio Cecchini."

"Breathtaking and Awesome experience. I will definitely visit the place again in the future.."

  • "Wonder Family Break"

    19 July 2015

"we had an awesome family holiday for a week at Cathedral Peak. Lots to do for all of us. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful - but not so the management. Lots of "old school" buffet food that could do with a revamp. That said, highly recommended and we will go back."

  • "Great experience!"

    02 May 2014

"There's very little to fault this hotel/resort...We stayed 3 nights with a 2 1/2 year old, and were extremely impressed! The superior room we booked was spacious, well furnished and had a great view.I usually dislike buffets as they tend to involve inferior food (quality and choice) but both the breakfast and dinner buffets were great. Some repetition but better than most! The option of an a la carte restaurant would be a great addition though- especially for those staying longer.Kids activities were great- and the separate dining room for kids was a good touch.Staff were generally good- but sometimes slow and surly. We booked a babysitter (Rose) twice who was brilliant with our kid.Overall I recommend this resort- there are tons of hikes, walks and other activities around to keep everyone occupied.Great experience from a rare privately owned hotel!"

  • "Nice but no special welcome"

    26 December 2013

"No effort was made to welcome us on the last leg of our honeymoon. Our hosts at the previous two venues welcomed us warmly. I mentioned to the hotel when booking that we would be on honeymoon. It seems that if you haven't booked the honeymoon suite, no extra effort is made. Apart from that, the food was enjoyable and the environment superb. The hotel was on the whole good."

  • "Beautiful location"

  • "Heaven on Earth"

    05 December 2012

"I really enjoyed my weekend stay at the resort. The place is heavenly, the staff angelic and the food no words can describe. One can never be bored as there is a variety of activities that one can do like guided walks and the horse rides to mention but a few.The price is reasonable and am already planning to bring my whole family for a weekend stay during the Easter holidays."

  • "The best place ever"

    17 August 2009

"I have been all around the world and have visited a lot of destinations that promise a lot but don't deliver. I was amazed at the service I got while staying at the Cathedral Peak hotel. The staff are very helpful and very insightful. I felt like I was the only guest there. I didn't mind all the attention at times but when we wanted some alone time its like they just knew. I'm happy to return in the blink of an eye."

"Great hotel, comfortable room, nice views, good food, lots to do in the neighbourhood even for people with limited mobility."

  • "2 nights"

    12 October 2008

"The position of the hotel is superb and there are plenty of walks within the surrounding areas. We took a helicopter flight which was amazing and the staff operating the helicopter service were very helpful. The buffet dining gave plenty of choice. However I think the hotel could look at having an a la carte dining area, where guests could make advanced reservations. Our bedroom was close to a pond and we were kept awake at night by the frogs! Also I think the bedrooms were a little drab and need re-furbishing.However the hotel is in such an amazing spot so when we booked we where prepared to compromise on accommodation."
