Jocks Cottages offers accommodation in Dullstroom, ranking among the premier fly and trout fishing destinations in Mpumalanga. The luxury self-catering cottages are situated on a farm adjacent to the Dullstroom trout dams.
Your hosts have built luxurious self-catering units, a cottage and a honeymoon suite for the enjoyment of trout fishermen and nature-lovers. Jocks Cottage is a double-story cottage offering accommodation to six guests. Joe's Place was originally the dairy and cow shed and has been converted into four self-catering units, each sleeping two guests, with a communal veranda with beautiful views.
Guests in Jocks Cottage may trout fish in the farm dam and guests in Joe's Place can fish in the Dullstroom Dam, which is 500 m from their doorstep. Other activities that may be enjoyed on the farm include mountain biking, hiking, bird-watching or a leisurely walk into the village.
"I had the pleasure to visit this peace of heaven, it is beautiful and every that a city girl want to brack away to.. I will definitely recommend this place and will definitely go again.. thank you for making our stay relaxing and joyful"
"Recently stayed at Jocks Cottages and absolutely loved the farm. Everything in the cottage was neat and tidy and clean. Daily room cleaning was friendly and efficient. Very accommodating and friendly owner helped with any needs/requirements."
"My wife and I spent the night at Joe's Place as we had a wedding in Dullstroom. The hosts were really accommodating as we had to make arrangements for early check in. Cottage is very neat and tidy, has a lovely patio and braai area."
"Small but tidy and everything you need. They supplied lots of wood for the cold and windy 4 days... will see us again"
"If one is looking to escape completely and be engulfed in seclusion this is the spot for you. What isn't stated in the description of venue is that Jocks Cottage is situated up a rocky hill and it would be advised that you take a car that can handle a rocky incline up to the unit. Upon arrive at the cottage ensure that you have direction on the use of the alarm system, we were not given instructions and could not get the alarm to stop, however we were attended to by the tactical response vehicle where we explained the situation and had to request another remote to switch the alarm off due to the battery being flat. The unit is clean and very well equipped from a kitchen point of view. Maintenance of the light bulbs around the braai area had not been attended to so we had to switch around light bulbs in order to have light while braai-ing. The cottage is equipped with two bathrooms, however the shower in the main bedroom/double bedroom downstairs did not work at all. On our last day we had no water at all. The above aside, the cottage comes equipped with a lovely fireplace and abundance off wood making the evenings lovely and cosy! The towels were fresh fluffy and the bedding crisp and clean."
"Quaint little cottage, neat tidy, lovely cozy fire place, linen crisp and clean, comfortable bed and set on a peaceful farm on the outskirts of Dullstroom."
"We loved everything. Our cottage was serviced daily and everything was clean and in order on our return. All utensils, crockery and just about everything else one would require are provided. Rates are very reasonable. Jocks is and always will be our first choice in Dullstroom.Would recommend this destination to anyone wanting a peaceful break from city life (like us), or even an overnight stop. Perfect."
"This beautiful cottage is perfectly situated. Close enough to all that Dullies has to offer and far enough to give you the sense of being in the countryside. We stayed in Joe's # 2, although the cottages are situated next to each other there is complete privacy.<br/><br/>The cottage is fully self-catering, with everything one would require for such a stay, catered for. The linen is crisp clean, with enough bedding/blankets to keep the cold out. The fireplace is fully stocked with wood.<br/><br/>The room was equipped with sweets and biscuits (for purchase). Over-all a fantastic experience, the views of the rolling hills and grassy meadows make for a super relaxing weekend!"
"Had a really great time. Cottage was neat and clean. Enjoyed the horses and cows. Beautiful setting far enough away from town that you feel you are staying in the farmlands, but easily close enough to town."
"What a splendid weekend we had at Fine Feathers. Unit was so cosy and well equipped! Enjoyed the quiet of being just on the outskirts of town, and the night sky is something to behold!<div><br /></div><div>We had a lovely time, thank you to the friendly and welcoming owners!</div><div><br /></div><div>A little bit disappointed to have found that the dam is only for Jock's Cottage (not Jock's Cottages), but now we know!</div>"
"We were disappointed with the booking system at Jocks Cottages. The place we were confirmed to be booked into was not available on arrival and we were put in a cottage that does not even feature on the website. After complaining, and in the end feeling as if I were to blame, we were given alternate accommodation in town at another venue (where we had to pay an additional fee)."
"Jocks cottage was wonderful. It was as described, peaceful with lovely scenery."
"It was lovely staying at Joe's place. Peace and quite and still close to town."
"We truly enjoyed our stay at Jocks Cottages over the weekend. The fishing was really lovely and even if we didn't catch a fish we enjoyed it. The only suggestion I would make is they urgently need to get new beds as they are worn out and need to up the cleaning services. Both days the lady that did the cleaning only came around 2pm when we were planning to take a nap. Thus it was really frustrating that one cannot rest when on holiday. Also the lady took some of our bath sheets without replacing so when we wanted to shower we had to share. The standard practice is that if you take a towel you replace with a clean one and also give the guests the option of getting new towels every day not just the set you got upon arrival."
"LOVED IT. WAS VERY SURPRISED WITH THE PLACE. DECOR AND FURNISHING BEAUTIFUL. WOULD HAVE LIKED A TV IN THE ROOM."
"A really wonderful, peaceful and relaxing cottage. The cottages were both clean, well maintained and very comfortable. The view lovely...I highly recommend Jocks Cottages for some peace and quiet."
"We absolutely loved our stay at Joe's Place. The view, the tranquillity and friendly farm animals all made this a great little break away from the city. The units are beautiful and very well equipped. We will definitely return in the near future!"
"Thank you, our stay was lovely."
"These cottages have a beautiful view over Groot Suiker Bos Kop. They are a bit small but their stylish interior and great view makes up for it."
"We really enjoyed this little cottage. It was far enough out of the town that it felt seculuded yet close enough that we could spend some time at the well stocked whiskey bar. Everyone we met was helpful and polite. Our only gripe is the price. Safari Now quoted us R400p/p, after paying the deposit we were requoted R800p/p by the agency managing the property, with a R100 discount for inconvenience. Finally we paid R1100 which was due to miscalculation."
"Our stay was pleasant but unfortunately it was freezing cold and blustering winds did not help and made it impossible to enjoy the patio area, and there was no bites in the dam either. We would suggest extra heating throughout the house (either heaters or electric blankets) as it was extremely cold inside and the fire place warmed up only the lounge area but unfortunately not the upstairs bedrooms. Lastly as an add on it would be great if the patio had roller blinds to block out the wind and if the staircase inside had a railing to assist kids walking up or down. The hospitality was great from the owners and they were extremely helpful and pleasant."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Jocks Cottage. Not only was it clean and stunning, but the view and peace was amazing. There is a down side however - I do believe that a small hairdryer could be supplied as well as some matches. Also could you put in bolder letters that you have to supply your own DStv card. Other than that, we will definitely be back."
