• "ACCOMMODATION NEEDS UPGRADE"

  "I`m describing my experience for the hope that certain points will be rectified by the owner for future holiday makers to experience a better and more accommodating stay.On arrival we were welcomed by a hip of open rubbish giving a terrible rotten smell blowing into the premises. I asked for it to be covered properly which was then done. The kitchen counter was so dirty and sticky all over that we never ate there and used the one upstairs as a simple wipe would not clean but needed a major scrub down. A lot of lights bulbs were not working. The main bedroom door does not lock even though it has a open plan bathroom in there! The stove warmer knob is broken off so if you use the top plates and don`t switch off at wall mains it stays on which is an electrical problem. The bath i the main bedroom, after draining the water from the plug 40% leaks into the guest bathroom. The shower needs tiles and a replacement of a dirty curtain. We were welcomed to both braai areas full of previous tenants coals and ash. The drum is so broken with holes that the ash pours through the balcony onto the entrance floor of the house. No toilet rolls. One dirty dish cloth. No soap or liquid at all. No microwave. A fridge with a broken door and water leaks on the floor. The couches are dirty and needing replacement as some need to be discarded. The place is well positioned but needs a coat of paint, water leaks repaired, wooden floors need sealing. It basically needs a makeover. I was aware i was going to experience some drawback based on previous reviews but seeing that everything was booked already, I had no choice. I am going to Elands Bay in Easter 2018 but booked already at another accommodation. Hope the owner sorts it out for newcomers, Thx"

  "The name said it all (Shark shack) its a shack, mattress are worn, no kettle or proper kitchen ware. No microwave and brokken plastic tabel. Braai consists of bricks on the ground and toilet is not working properly. Coaches are worn and no curtains. Much beter accommodation available in the area."

  "I would suggest that the owner visits himself and seriously fixes the place up its looong overdue. I would only ever go back if..... all the terrible chipped plates, cups and cuttlery were changed. The place needs a paint, the floor needs a paint... the windows are broken, the curtains / cloth at the windows are NOT curtains, there was no kettle or toaster, the discloths were beyond disgusting, the chairs are broken, the couches are dirty. Its a hovel."

  "In my opinion it should be advertised as a backpackers.<div><br /></div><div><span style="font-size: 1em; line-height: 1.5;">If you're looking for an affordable spot for you and your mates, a definite yes, however t</span>he double bed in the en suite is extremely uncomfortable (Thin foam mattress and you can feel the planks of the pine base underneath).</div><div><br /></div><div>I would not recommend it to a family with toddlers. The pool is not fenced. It has a steep open stair case. The balcony balastrade is made up of lax rope that overhangs the edge, very easy to fall through, not to mention that the doors leading onto the balcony does not close (No latches).</div><div><br /></div><div>The location is fantastic!</div>"

  "The house is very nice, with everything you could need, the host was also very helpful and communicative. Nice and close to the point and you can see the waves from the deck which is great.<div>We had a great time.</div>"

  "Absolutely disgusting. The place was dirty, old coffee cups etc. left without being cleaned. The downstairs toilet leaked urine everywhere, and the shower can't even be called a shower. Disgusting."

  "When we arrived in Elandsbaai to book in at Benguela the agent name Allen Drobb was not avaiable on his cell number. We phoned the landline number and the lady told us she would see if she can find Allen. While we waited we located the premises and had a look around. The trash bins was not cleaned and dirty baby diapers was scattered around the outside; the swimming pool was green and the rest of the house inside had old furniture. There was no power available and was told we should buy our own prepaid electricity. The premises is not close to what is shown on the website. We paid the full amount for 2 nights but decided not to stay there even if Allan contacted us; as until today no call was recieved from Allan. I would suggest that SafariNow do an investigation and send us the results."

  "Nice comfortable get away. Pool green but that's probably because it's been winter. Otherwise, nicely set out for a group of friends or family."
