Elgin Hills Luxury Tented Camp

The beautiful Elgin Hills Luxury Tented Camp is located among the picturesque wooded hills that border the Palmiet River. From the moment you arrive, you will be stunned by the natural beauty of the estate which has more than 7 km of river frontage.

Our Luxury Tents have double or queen-size beds sleeping two guests comfortably, although additional beds can be added on request; relax in the comfort of crisp white linen. Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom equipped with a shower, basin and toilet, and there is a gas heater in all for those cold winter nights.

The camp has a large lapa fitted with a lounge suite, a dining table, a flat screen TV with DStv and a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove. Relax on the lapas sun deck and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Palmiet River that meanders below through a spectacular green valley dotted with trees, or wander down to the river for a sundowner cruise on our barge. During the day you can hike through the eco trails that ramble through the stunning estate.

There are plenty of events and attractions in the Elgin Valley and activities include canoeing, rowing, mountain bike trails, hiking, 4x4 routes, kloofing and fishing. Elgin Hills Luxury Tented Camp is situated in one of South Africas most scenic valleys where our staff members are committed to making your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible.

  • "Not luxury"

"Both nights monkeys got into the tent through the gap where the zip joins and we were at the lapa braaing. There was no warning that this would happen and our tent was zipped up. The hot water would go off when a gust of wind would blow the gas flame out. The tented camp was beautifully situated, but no outdoor Braai facilities is a shame. I Won't go back until they fix the holes in the tent, have garanteed hot water and build outdoor braais.<div><br /></div>"

"The tents are well appointed and comfortable for a weekend stay. The lapa is lovely and has great views. Probably better as a summer stay because our visit in early May had temperatures of 6 and 1 degrees at night and even with the electric blankets on it was very cold."

  • "One with nature! Awesome"

"One of the most relaxing and peaceful getaways I've had. The views are spectacular, the rooms are stunning - and its so quiet. We could see almost every star in the sky! Plus its only 45 minutes away from Cape Town - what a pleasure! We will go back in a heart beat!"

  • "Superb"

"We had a wonderful stay. Views were spectacular, beds were comfotable and facilites super. We were a bit disappointed that the other guests brought their little children when the website stated no children under 10yrs."
