"The first room we were showed too the door and the toilet did not work. The second room we had no soaps, almost no coffee and no milk. The TV remote did not work. The bathroom and room was full of mould and spiderwebs. The pizza was overpriced at R120 a pizza and a glass of box wine cost R40. The bedroom door had a hole in and snakes could enter. The breakfast my scrambled eggs were burnt. No serviettes were offered and it looked like they set the table for a steak evening and not for breakfast. It was absolutely an awful experience."

"The restaurant was dreadful. The hosts had little idea of how or what is needed to run a comfortable lodge. The very word lodge gives a false impression"

"We enjoyed the farm atmosphere created by the views, animals, smells and night sounds. . The family room was neat , comfortable and spacious but noisy due to the kitchen being right next to it. We expected farm style food but disappointingly it included items like calamari and coctail pork sausages instead of lamb tjops , boerewors , fresh home made bread etc."

  • "Comfortable"

"We stayed at Intaba Lodge overnight with our 2 children. It is set in pretty surroundings. The family room we stayed in was very spacious with 2 separate bedrooms. It was however a little noisy as it adjoined the kitchen.

It is fairly basic accommodation but good value and comfortable enough. One night's stay was enough though."

"We so enjoyed our one night stop over at Intaba Lodge outside Elliott. It was comfortable and our host very friendly and very accommodating. We also so enjoyed the really heavy rustic decor and the couple of sheep keeping the lawn short, happily grazing there."
