Tally Ho Bed and Breakfast

Tally Ho is an authentic bed and breakfast in a beautiful country setting surrounded by a working sugar estate. We always look forward to welcoming guests to our home as we enjoy meeting new people. We provide personal service by cooking and serving breakfast ourselves. We have 3 well appointed en-suite rooms in a cottage next to the main house. This affords guests their own private entrance from the gardens. Each room offers a luxury queen size bed, crisp white bed linen and fluffy towels for extra comfort. All rooms have their own air-conditioning, DSTV and courtesy tray with tea/coffee making facilities. Guests also have a fridge and microwave oven (for warming pre-cooked food) at their disposal. For those who do not want to venture out, our picturesque gardens provide the perfect setting for enthusiastic bird watchers. We also have a large swimming pool with a patio and braai facilities. There is a games room with various games in the main house. We are situated conveniently close to both Richards Bay and Empangeni where there are excellent recreational facilities such as fishing, beachcombing, birdwatching, surfing, swimming and canoeing. The Tuzi Gazi Waterfront in Richards Bay is also a popular place to visit.The town of Richards Bay lies at the edge of the sea in an ancient floodplain, almost halfway between Durban and Kosi Bay. It forms the tourist gateway to Zululand and Maputaland. The well known wildlife reserves of Hluhluwe and Umfolozi and the World Heritage site of the St Lucia Wetlands are only a 1 hour or so away. The area has some of the most spectacular wetland scenery and unspoilt beaches on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal.

"After a lengthy drive down from Johannesburg for a busy business launch it was great to just disappear into the sugar cane fields for some peace and quiet in the luxury of a home away from home, friendly atmosphere and as always I wish I could have stayed a bit longer. A must of nature lovers, I can ramble on forever about the owls calling out in the darkness while on their hunt and listening to the bats move about and chatter to each other from the trees overhead. Thanks Tally Ho, thoroughly enjoyed my stay."
