A Place in Thyme

Situated on the mountainside in Fish Hoek, this establishment offers self-catering accommodation in three different units, which are reached via a funicular and steps: A Place in Thyme cottage (sleeps five); Big Thyme (sleeps three) and Small Thyme (sleeps two).

A Place in Thyme cottage comprises two comfortable bedrooms (sleeping five in two queen-size beds and a single). All bedding and towels are supplied. There are two bathrooms: one with shower, the other with bath. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer and leads outside to a paved area with wash line and barbecue (braai). The flat-screen TV comes with Netflix and YouTube. Double doors lead from the dining room onto a patio, which overlooks a deck and swimming pool. The swimming pool and braai (barbecue) facilities are for the exclusive use of guests in the cottage. Free Wi-Fi. Off-street parking.

Big Thyme is a studio apartment, which sleeps 3 in a queen-size bed and a sleeper couch. An en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, kitchenette with two-plate hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle, free Wi-Fi and TV with Netflix complete the facilities. A shared braai /barbecue and seating area are also available.

Small Thyme is a studio apartment, which sleeps 2 in a queen-size bed. An en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, kitchenette with two-plate hob, microwave, bar fridge, toaster and kettle, free Wi-Fi and TV with Netflix complete the facilities. A shared braai /barbecue and seating area are also available.

We have installed inverters so that guests can watch TV and use wifi during power outages.

A five-minute drive takes you to Fish Hoek beach, which is ideal for swimming, long beach walks and whale watching (in season). For the more active there are golf courses in nearby Clovelly and Simons Town, surfing, boogie boarding, sailing, horse riding, hiking and walking trails. A Place in Thyme is about 40 minutes drive from Cape Town city centre and about 45 minutes from Cape Town International Airport.
