O'Hanna's Guest House

We are situated in Florida and our entrance is in 4th Avenue just off Goldman Street next to Saint Gabriels Church. O'Hanna's Guest House is of high standards with friendly, professional service and affordable accommodation for business and leisure set in the most tranquil setting in the heart of Florida. The friendly and peaceful atmosphere makes you feel at. Relax in a natural well established garden designed to evoke tranquillity. We have a large aviary and a variety of bird life in the garden.

O'Hanna's Guest House has been in existence since 1998. The current owner, Betty-Ann Hendrick took over ownership in November 2006. You will be interested to know that O'Hanna's Guest House was the residence of one of Florida's first Mayors. The house and garden still retains the old world charm of yesteryear. Our rooms have private entrances and do not form part of the house apart from one room which does form part of the house also with a private entrance. Our rooms all have individual gas geysers - this is to ensure our guests always have hot water available, especially when we have our occasional power outages. We also have a water filtration reservoir in order for our guests to enjoy clean filtered water. We have parking inside the property for vehicles and have secure fencing round the property including an electric gate. The property is over 3000 square meters in size.

We have menus from various places where a guest can order a meal and have it delivered to their room. We are a two minute walk to Florida CBD where they will find Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Wimpy and many other takeout food places.

We have nine elegantly furnished en-suite rooms of which - two rooms have a single bed in each room, two rooms has a double bed and a single bed, one rooms have queen beds and three rooms have twin beds. There is a laundry which includes irons and ironing boards and it also has a micro wave oven to warm meals. This facility can be used in conjunction with any of the rooms the guest requires.

We also offer a laundry service washing and ironing service. Photocopy and fax facilities. O'Hanna's Guest House is registered with ROCCI, Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 17 June 1999. We have also complied with all the Municipal registrations. Member of: West Rand Town and Country Accommodation. Be assured that Betty-Ann will do her utmost to meet your requirements and make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

"The website description of this property is very misleading. It is not in a very good part of town and I felt unsafe there from the moment our Uber dropped us off. It was just myself and my 2 children so I immediately booked other accommodation and left. The room was tiny and smelt like mould. The duvet covers did not even match and had cigarette burns in them. The bathroom felt and smelt dirty with a window where the people next door could see in. I would never go back there again nor would I recommend this place to stay. When I sent the owner a message to tell him we were leaving and that the keys were in the door, he didn't even bother to ask why or to call me to see what the problem was. His response was "see you next time"!"
