Activities in the area include numerous hiking trails, fly fishing, snow skiing, an 18-hole golf course, white water rafting, quad bike rental, a white lion game park, abseiling, a Basotho cultural village, Anglo Boer-War sites, rock art, photography and visits to working farms to name a few.

"It was a huge disappointment and it didn't look like anything on the pictures. We know it is winter(the review has nothing to do with the gardens) but I feel we were mislead by what we discovered in the chalet and room, Guinea Fowl and Sun Room. Good for an overnight stay but definitely NOT for a long weekend. Guinea Fowl is NOT a separate bedroom with bathroom-en-suite..it is ONE room with a King size bed, kitchen and living room all in one with a separate bathroom...no table inside to sit and eat by, no place to hang or unpack your clothes...not our cup of tea...will not be back."

"Shumba Guest farm was a delight. The Camping ground clean and the views magnificent. Ablution facilities for the ladies extremely clean Would definitely go back. A very big plus for happy campers is that the farm is pet friendly. Also have a few self catering cottages for those that do not wish to camp."

"Terugvoering insake verblyf by Shumba Valley Guest Farm. Teen die dagtarief vergelyk Shumba glad nie goed met ander plekke waarons al voorheen tuis was nie! Die eenheidbeskik nie eers oor hangplek of bereplek vir jou klere nie! Daar is nie 'n TV in die eenheid nie. Daar is spesifiek aan ons gese dat die eenheid gediens sal word. Dit hetnooit gebeur nie. Die opset en die werf vertoon slordig en werklik nie aangenaam vir die oog nie! Jammer om te moet se dat ekbeslis nie die vrymoedigheid het om enigiemand ooit na Shumba aan te beveel nie. "
