Basse Provence Guest House is a 4 Star luxury bed and breakfast accommodation situated on an historical working wine farm in the picturesque valley of Franschhoek. This landmark Cape Dutch Manor, built in 1855, sits invitingly amongst the vines and 300 year old oak trees. The interior is a fine blend of traditional Huguenot heritage and South African culture. We offer nine lovely rooms in total.
The Country House features four superb en-suite bedrooms with baths, showers and underfloor heating, together with satellite TV and a swimming pool.
The Manor House features three bedrooms, two rooms with en-suite bathrooms and a third room with a private bathroom - all of which are on the upper floor with breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains.
Basse Provence Guest House is also proud to offer a new superbly furnished two-bedroom cottage on their historical Cape Dutch wine farm. Privately situated, the cottage has a large garden and terrace with a wonderful mountain outlook. There is air-conditioning and DStv in both bedrooms, and each has its own large modern en-suite bathroom. The living room is equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee and tea-making facilities, and a minibar to your account.
"What a joy to stay in such a friendly, homely and extremely comfortable Guest Hoyse. We were made exceptionally welcome and given a great recommendation for a local restaurant, which was booked for us! Breakfast was amazing with freshly baked croissants and muffins, plus all the usual treats. Will definitely stay here again."
"e loved our 3-night stay at Basse Provence. Had the Elizabeth room, otherwise known as the honeymoon suite. The staff, both front office and hired help were super nice, helpful with suggestions, and booked us 3 very different dinner dining experiences. Maybe next time we'll stay at the more upscale Rickety Bridge sister property, "just because"."
"Great accommodation and friendly staff together with location on the Rickety Bridge Wine Estate means we have no problem in fully recommending this Guest House. If we return to the region we would definitely visit again. Thanks Shani for making our stay enjoyable."
"- the staff are very helpful and considerate. I would recommend it to everyone."
"The accommodation was certainly very nice; however, as we were 2 couples traveling together, we would have enjoyed a quiet drink later in the evening. We felt we couldnt do that since there was not a common area inside which wouldnt disturb the guests who had their room directly joining this common area (lounge). There was an outside area, however, at the time of our visit, there seemed to be a plague of small flying insects which forced us to go inside and we felt we would disturb the other guests if we chose to do that after 22h00. Also, we were disappointed the manager did not advise us she was leaving the premises late afternoon and we would have a security guard and dog. She needed to advise us when we arrived who else was at the Guesthouse and who would be \coming and going\" during the evening. Otherwise"
"We visited Basse Provence in june this here and was really happy with our friendly reception and help with the choosing of a restaurant to dine in the evening.

The room was very clean and beautifully decorated with a stunning view over the vinyards. I can strongly recommend this guest house."
"Massive, exceptionally comfortable king size bed. Great breakfast. Close to Franschoek and wine farms. I enjoyed my stay."
"The honeymoon suite was really amazing and very beautiful. The people were also very hospitable and very friendly."
