Angelas Guest Lodge is a self-catering guest house and lodge situated in the Gariep Dam Holiday Village. Gariep Dam Village was voted South Africas tourist town of the year" in 2010 and is situated approximately halfway between Cape Town and Johannesburg, and only a couple of minutes off the N1 highway, 44 km north of Colesberg.

Angelas Guest Lodge is ideally suited to the weary traveller wanting a stopover or the guest who wants to spend some extra days enjoying all that the Karoo and Gariep Dam area has to offer. Gariep Dam, appropriately named Lake Gariep is South Africas largest inland lake. It is home to a wide variety of birds and has two surrounding game reserves leading onto the banks of the lake.

  • "Convienence to Gariep Dam"

    22 December 2020

"Very Clean, Johan & wife received us warmly. Only recommend that bed mattress could be a bit softer as they were very firm and after a long drive you may want a bit more comfort."

  • "Bad experience"

    01 December 2018

"Tidy and clean room, however parking was not secure and neighbours were swearing and fighting with each other throughout the night. The shower took 10 minutes to heat up and shower mixer did not work properly so you could only have a boiling hot or freezing cold shower."

  • "The warm beds"

"Was a great place to spend the night"

  • "Sunday visit"

    19 June 2018

"Everything was in a neat and tidy condition. Electric blanket was god send and made up for the poor heat delivery from the air conditioner. facilities were more than adequate . Spoiled DSTV viewer ( me ) could have done with more channels. Welcome by Johan was thorough and enjoyable and included meeting me so that I didn't have to struggle to find the Guest Lodge."

  • "Neat clean accommodation."

    07 November 2017

"Bathroom a bit small/ crowded. Payed a special discount offer price but think the "normal" price as indicated on the site is a bit steep for what is provided eg limited TV channels."

  • "Comfortable stay"

"Everything as expected. All round good."

  • "Nice stay"

  • "New experience"

    22 January 2013

"I have never been to Gariep dam and I was in awe of the place. The overnight accommodation was just as pleasantly surprising. As a family of 4 we loved our night there."

  • "Substandard"

    24 December 2012

"These are prefab units. We arrived on the hottest day of summer with the aircon not working. After complaining we were told to open the doors. The aircon has not been operational for months- prior to our booking. The hot water supply is a "low pressure solar unit". It takes 1 minute for the hot water to come through every time you open the tap. There is not enough hot water to bath in the evening and again in the morning. The bathroom only has a bath. The "lapa" is a wooden bench in the open. The unit is not accesible for the elderly or disabled."

  • "Terrible & overpriced"

    18 December 2012

"Stayed overnight on the way 2 the coast-thank goodness it was only 1 night! The dustbin was still full of rubbish from the previous people & the floor filthy. Couldn't believe it when they said it was their brand new unit as decor extremely dated. Inadequate parking where all the residents had 2 arrange between themselves how 2 park 2 fit cars in according to who was leaving first. All for r900...no thanks. Rather pay extra & stay @ the hotel."
