The Gariep Dam is enticing for any water sport lover with its vast expanse of sparkling water that offers game viewing by boat, windsurfing, sailing, jet skiing, canoeing and rowing.
The Gariep Dam is just 40 kilometers from Colesberg and is South Africa's largest dam and truly the heart of the large proximity of land that surrounds it.
"Arrived to find house locked. No answer on contact numbers. Owner refuses to refund depositAvoid at all costs."
"What an absolute disappointment! My husband phoned the owner before making the booking to find out if the establishment was indeed wheelchair friendly as advertised. He was assured that with the exception of a few rails it was fully wheelchair friendly. When we arrived we had to wait 2 hours for someone to open up for us. There were steps to get into the place! Even an able bodied person would have trouble squeezing in between the bath and shower to get to the toilet. The place was so small that the wheelchair could not turnaround in any of the rooms. The owner refused to answer our numerous calls to sort it out. There was no other accommodation available at such short notice. Mr Jacobs showed his absolute disrespect for the needs of disabled people. He blatantly lied to us without any disregard as to what the impact would be. He should not be allowed to be in the hospitality business"
"The house is clean and modern. The DSTV did not work. Overall good. Will visit again. Thank you"
