Weder Guest House

Weder Guest House is situated in the quiet town of Genadendal, the oldest Mission Station in Africa. Set on the historic Werf and built in 1814 as a house for the mission store keeper, the Weder Guest House offers gracious and comfortable accommodation.

Like all the buildings on the Werf, this guest house has lots of character and guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the immediate surroundings. We offer various accommodation options to suit all budgets.

The Mission Museum is only a short walk away, with 15 exhibition rooms housing among other unique collections, the oldest fire engine and pipe organ in the country.

    27 October 2019

"Place very clean but but,one tea spoon no dish washing liquid no kitchen clothe toilet seat broken TV not working (not important) but was supposed to have been repaired the Friday,I only met Bonita for a very short while when we arrived and never again did not respond to my calls to hand over key and also I had to ask for a kettle.Balance not paid because of non appearance.Would go again if all issues could be sorted out otherwise cost for this weekend not worth it.Kind regards"

  • "Stop-over for "Die Galg" hike in Greyton"

    03 October 2017

"We only booked the place as a one night stop-over. We were a group of 18. very cost effective and clean and only hick-up was that we had to phone Bonita to organise a kettle as it was locked away. There was also no kitchen cleaning supplies so we had to wash our dishes without soap and let it drip dry..There is no after-hour staff if something goes wrong but there are telephone numbers and the staff lives in the "dorp". I will defnitely use this place as a stop-over again as its affordable and very clean."

  • "Disgusting!"

    15 April 2014

"Bad location - in the centre of a poor coloured township.Accommodation stank of stale smoke and damp.Stagnant drain water at side entrance with moss growing up the walls. My parents would not stay there and had to find accommodation elsewhere at night!False marketing."
