Downstairs Suites

Situated in the delightful village of Gordons Bay, the Downstairs Suites is an ideal place to relax and enjoy your holiday. Sit on the balcony and look over the most magnificent view of the ocean and the surrounding mountains. During the months of May to November we are visited by the Southern Right whales right on our doorstep and the dolphins are never far away.

Downstairs Suites offers accommodation in three suites, two of which are fully equipped for self-catering, with separate entrances, and the third on a bed and breakfast basis. All of the rooms offer balconies with magnificent sea views, and high quality linen and bath towels are provided.

In the front is a peaceful garden with a superb swimming pool, and Guinea fowl and many species of Cape birds are ever present. The area is safe and secure, with ample parking available.

The beaches are in close proximity which makes the position of the suites ideal. For golfers, there are courses close by, and for outdoor enthusiasts there are interesting hiking trails and, of course, fishing.

Along with the Downstairs Suites is the Downstairs Gallery where one can view the large exhibition of paintings and tiles by the well-known artist Edmund Barton. The gallery is very interesting; using the natural rocks of the mountain in its interior and is open to the public every day. Your stay with your hosts, Georgie and Edmund Barton, will be memorable judging by the number of guests who return to stay.

"We enjoyed the peace and quiet of Downstairs suite the view is spectacular the weather was great.The suite was fitted with a decent sized kitchen and a two plate stove and microwave for you to prepare whatever you feel like along with pots and pans,cutlery &Crockery so theres no need to Bring that along.Uncle Eddie is such a pleasant host,We had a great stay"

All the little things that one normally need were available. We had the most beautiful view and not even the strongest wind bothered us on the balcony.
