"What a pleasure it was after a days travel in 40c heat, to arrive unpack, and relax in a cool, air conditioned, comfortable, clean, well appointed, home from home. De Kothuize was exactly as described & reception was efficient and friendly. Shops for supplies are in easy walking distance. Even our puppy Wolf Hound was welcomed, in a dog friendly environment."

  • "Double booking, no explanation, apology or response!"

    04 May 2017

"We arrived at 10 Parsonage Street, which we booked and paid for 2 months earlier, only to be met by other guests already staying in the house! I reached a staff member of De Kothuize by phone and was told that we had been "moved" to another house in Graaff Reinet and was given the address. No explanation was given. The other house was fine, but on the noisiest road in town during a weekend of a motorcycle rally. The peaceful stopover we had planned turned out to be a restless and disappointing night. I'm unable to rate 10 Parsonage Street as we didn't get the chance to stay there!"

  • "Wonderful stay"

    28 January 2017

"From booking in onwards everything was superb. 10 Parsonage Street has a lovely feel to it. 2 rooms are on the small side but are en suite with quite a high bath to step in with overhead shower. 3rd bedroom larger and has walk in shower. There is a well equipped kitchen with ice maker, full oven fridge freezer etc. Filter coffee machine in the dining room which seats 8. A small lounge area with TV & DSTV bouquet. Outside there is a lovely patio with braai and an old bakers oven dating back to goodness knows when. Explore a bit further and a door from the courtyard opens up onto a beautiful swimming pool, which was most welcome the day we arrived when it was around 40oC!! Walking distance to restaurants shops etc and also secure parking by the offices 2 doors down. Will be back again for sure"

"The house is right in the heart of the restored district of Graaf Reinet - to actually stay in such a house which has absolutely everything you could want for a very comfortable stay was wonderful."
