Eenzaamheid Holiday Farm lies nestled deep within the access-controlled Camdeboo Conservancy in the malaria-free Eastern Cape. It is near the historic town of Graaff-Reinet, just 20 km from the N9. Guests stay in two comfortable farm-style selfcatering cottages, where farm breakfasts and Karoo dinners or barbecues can be served on request. We offer a safe, healthy and tranquil holiday destination for nature lovers. Come and experience life on a working farm, which the Theron family has owned since 1818.
"Absolute bliss when staying at this piece of paradise. We loved the beautiful vast views of the mountains & clusters of stars at night."
"Awesome Karoo stay, felt like long lost friends"
"Stephanie was very friendly and made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious and we looked forward to every meal. Our children enjoyed the stay very much and didn't want to leave so soon. We hope to visit again soon."
"Sterrekyk, swem in die plaasdam en raak weer gewoond aan die stilte. Baie lekker gebly dankie!"
"After driving for 955km, I was met late at night by Doreen, very friendly and reassuring. I arrived late, and this was no problem. Doreen checked up on me everyday and I really appreciated the care. The farm is absolutely stunning, and my son made friends with the one Jack Russell, they became best friends in a matter of minutes. This is a little piece of heaven in between the mountains, and did wonders for a weary soul.... Thank you!"
"Stayed there for only one night. Arrived very late and left early again. Our little cottage was very clean and everything worked as it should. Beds are comfortable with crisp clean linen.<div><br /></div><div>The setting is magnificent. Majestic mountains surround you and you feel part of nature again. Would have loved to stay longer.</div><div><br /></div><div>The gravel road is in fair condition but it is quite a drive (20km from the N9) to get to the farm. We encountered several kudu and other small game on our drive there.</div><div><br /></div><div>The host was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. If you look for the extra ordinary, consider this farm for a stay over.</div>"
"We stayed for just one night en-route to Sedgefield but it was a welcome oasis to break the journey. Wonderful to spend time on a real farm, great scenery and clear stars, comfortable accommodation."
"<div>My husband and myself needed a quiet place to stay on the way home to Johannesburg from Cape Town.</div><div>We had a lovely private room with bathroom with outside entrance. Room beautifully decorated with antique furniture and very comfortable beds.</div><div>Before departing next morning host Stephanie provided us with a delicious breakfast. I will recommend this farm stay to anyone.</div>"
"This has to be one of the most beautiful farm settings in the country, and the name says it all! Solitude, and wildlife in abundance. Lodgings clean and comfortable."
"The farm is located in a lovely area, very quiet and peaceful. However, the website of the farm does indicate several activities like horse riding, quad biking, etc. that do not exist. We were very disappointed in that and feel that the website should indicate correct information. Actually, apart from walking (there are no maps or trails sets) and swimming in a circular concrete reservoir, there are no other activities to do."
"We stayed in the self-catering unit. The weather was awful on arrival but the warm welcome we got from our hosts was terrific. The accommodation exceeded our expectations for the price and was most luxurious. We only wish we could have stayed longer than our one-night stopover, to explore the farm."
"Very pleasant and comfortable with everything needed for an enjoyable stay and stunning scenery."
"We enjoyed our one-night stay at the farm. It's a comfortable stone house with spacious and nicely decorated rooms. We had delicious dinner served at our dining counter, and a tasty breakfast in the main house. I recommend both. The view from the house of the mountains and artificial lake is beautiful. The farm road, a 20 km gravel road, is passable for sedan cars; drive slowly if there is mud or pebbles. We enjoyed the drive through the neigbouring farms, and had sightings of sheep, lamb, ostrich and even a few monkeys along the way."
"This is a 5 Star farm in word and life. No TV, radio or anything that can take your attention away from being on a farm. Most beautiful nights ever, sounds that you will never hear in any city and a milky way you will not find in any planetarium. Friendly people and 5 Star treatment."
"This is an extraordinary place, down many kilometres of dirt roads. It feels utterly quiet and remote, and yet it is comfortable and well-equipped. Owing to my incompetence with booking we turned up a day early, but Stephanie could not have been more helpful, and managed to squeeze us one and I would have liked it to have been longer. My fantasy would be to come out here in the winter and write. Thoroughly recommended, especially for European city dwellers who love a feeling of space."
"Overnight for 2 en route to Knysna Cycle Race, turned out to be a absolute gem that really was excellent. Highlights: The accommodation, the food, the staff, the jack puppy *****, the milky way, the goats. Really enjoyed. Visitors arriving in the dark should be aware that it is a bit of a distance on sand road, and it is VERY dark."
