Bartholomew's Loft
Bartholomew's Loft is an affordable, centrally situated self-catering accommodation ideally suited to families or friends travelling together in the Eastern Cape. We offer three bedrooms - one upstairs room with a king-size bed and two smaller twin rooms downstairs - and a spacious open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen area.
Entrance to the property is through large gates with a paved driveway and ample secure parking. The historic building, once an old church, is full of character with its loft conversion and double-volume living area. Set off the historic Artificers Square, the original heart of 1820 Settler Grahamstown, it is within easy walking distance of the city centre and Rhodes University.

02 August 2022"There was no hot water, the geyser was turned off. I showered at other room, shower outlet was blocked, microwave did not work. Lovely place but need management, staff all in one room and watching tv all the time."

10 April 2013"We stayed here twice, once in the smaller one bedroom self catering cottage and again in the larger three bedroom loft.<br/>Very well appointed, the bed and linen quality first class, each cottage has dstv selection and the kitchen and crockery equipment generous.<br/>Small touches included sealed coffee pouches (not instant ) selection of teas and milk also laid out with tasty rusks. <br/>Both apartments very clean and were serviced.<br/>Host very congenial and accommodation in a late check out.<br/>Lockable courtyard for vehicles with remote gate access.<br/>Recommendable<br/>"

17 January 2013"We only had one night there as a stopover on a long journey but the place was well equipped, spacious and comfortable. I would not describe the parking as ample – if you plan to leave early make sure your car is not parked in."
