Cockleshell Beach House

Cockleshell Beach House is a quaint self-catering house, located in a private Nature Reserve 55 km from Cape Town and 30 km from all amenities. It is fully equipped to accommodate eight people. The home offers panoramic views of the ocean and is a short walk to a private beach.

This beach house is very comfortable, with a large open-plan living area. There are four bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine that allow for easy self-catering purposes. A wide covered terrace features a braai area, overlooking the sea and nature reserve.

The tranquil setting is ideal for nature lovers. Walking trails, prolific bird lives, whale sightings, stargazing in unpolluted night skies and the spectacular wild flowers in spring are some of the many attractions this unique and special environment offers.

"Weve stayed in grotto bay before and definitely have favorited this venue. Its 4bedroom all en-suite feature means that there is space for our family to stay, the entertainment area has imitation interrupted views of the ocean, the decor on point. The only missing facility is WiFi which sadly is now apart of the need in our daily lives."

"There are two things that I would change wrt the accommodation. First of all I found the basins in the bathrooms uncomfortable to use. It is impossible to wash your face and also awkward to brush your teeth because of the tap.Secondly I would change the hanging baskets on the veranda to comfortable chairs/loungers but other than that it was a wonderful weekend"

"Loved the home, the dcor & the cleanliness, Just felt that the living/recreation/reception/relaxation area/s is/are too small should the place be fully occupied! Was just enough for 4 of us. More people & it would be claustrophobic. Enjoyed every moment of my stay.though!Oh and the pathway/driveway is certainly not functional. Pretty, but not functional."

"It's difficult to find suitable words to describe the stunning weekend away we had at Cockleshell. It starts with a warm welcome from Martin, who is extremely friendly and accommodating. It almost feels as if you're returning to visit family you haven't seen in a while. The sunsets on the deck, coupled with the sound of the waves and birds are amazing, as is waking up to the peace and quiet of the beach and the smell of fynbos. The house itself is beautiful and the perfect getaway - completely refreshing for the soul. We will definitely be back again soon."
