Panzi Bush Camp

Panzi which is pronounced paan-zee and means down below or on the ground in Shangaan. This name was chosen because the camp nestles comfortably in a beautiful wooded gully which is surrounded by magical indigenous trees and bush. Panzi Lodge is situated in the Guernsey Nature Reserve; this charming rustic 20-bed lodge in the Limpopo Province is close to the Blyde River Canyon and God's Window. Only a 45 minute drive to Kruger Park's Orpen Gate and an hour and a half to Phalaborwa Gate, Panzi is ideally located for those wanting to explore the area's many attractions. The reserve has a variety of plains game, including giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and impala, as well as smaller nocturnal game such as genet, civet, porcupine and honey badger.

Panzi Bush Lodge offers thatched-roof bungalows connected by wooden walkways through the bush. The gardens contain an outdoor swimming pool and open boma area which has a fireplace and braai for traditional barbecues, or at the bar. Nearby the camp is a viewing deck, which overlooks a waterhole and offers views of the Drakensberg Mountains during the day and is perfect for star gazing or sundowners at night. A fresh buffet breakfast is served daily in the thatched dining area which is open to the garden.

Panzi has developed a well-earned reputation for delicious food. Together with very comfortable accommodation, an enchanting bush environment, a guide with an amazing knowledge of all forms of flora and fauna, friendly hosts, a festive bar atmosphere and comfortable lounge, you are assured of a special and memorable bush experience. Panzi Bush Lodge will rest assured restore your soul and spirit and be an unforgettable experience.

  • "Unique and pleasant stay in the bush"

    20 August 2017

"We had a great time at Panzi Bush Camp (2 nights) before going into Kruger via the Orpen gate. Apart from the great looks (wooden board walks and cabins) it was clean, friendly and relaxing. They serve excellent food. We especially enjoyed the bush walk guided by Jacob."
