Kruisvlei Retreat

Just outside of Harrismith, Kruisvlei Retreat offers rustic farm-style accommodation with enough space for the whole family.

In an area well known for its beautiful mountains and snow-capped winters, guests are accommodated in a three bedroom farmhouse and a separate rondavel.

The farmhouse offers cooking facilities, while outside a braai area provides the ideal spot to put your feet up and just relax.

The whole 450 hectares of the farm is available for hiking with a stream running through it that offers fishing and birding opportunities. There is also a horse available for riding

You are welcome to bring your own quads, mountain bikes, boats, canoes or just come and enjoy the peace and quiet.

"We loved being on the farm with no surrounding noise. All we heard were the occasional sounds of the cattle, horses, poultry and rich birdlife. The old farm house was clean and offered everthing needed for a comfortable overnight stay. Our host was very friendly and made sure we were okay on the farm. Definitely recommend this venue."

"The place was truly a waste of hard earned money, absolutely filthy, unhygienic and unkept. We had to leave before our booking was over, it was unacceptable. Looks like the place hasn't been cleaned in years, there are insects in the linen."

"We came from Limpopo on our way to Qwanatni, and had to stay over before entering the reserve. A delightful rustic old farmhouse with al the necessary amenities. Clean and neat, beautiful clean soft water to drink and bath, lovely walks to the hilltops with beautiful views. A pleasurable experience, and enjoyable for the doggies too. Farmyard lovely and open."
