  "Peace of mind ,quite and beautiful place at La Bastide. The guest houses are clean and the scenery is refreshing. I enjoyed my night there even though we arrived when they was no Power "Eskom" , the host made sure candles and adequate lighting was sufficient. It was a blissful moment when power arrived after 30 minutes of our arrival.   "We booked two self catering units the Geranium and Lavender cottages for two families traveling with kids for the weekend of the Ashburton Mountain Bike race which was held just around the corner at Van Gaalens Cheese farm. Both units are very comfortable and clean, they had a authentic country feel and the showers were hot and strong. The play area for the kids was excellent and great for them to get out of the city and get dirty!! They had so much fun!! Beds were clean and comfortable and the fire place in the Geranium room kept us warm all through the winter night. Take a walk down to he road late afternoon for a rewarding experience. The dogs on the property are really cool. We also changed the kids jungle gym into our chill area with cushions and it was great. Definitely will come back. Thanks Robyn for a great place to stay."

  "We were two families with three wild children. I can say that all of us had a wonderful time, the boys explored an exciting garden, friendly dogs, a jungle gym and a fresh and clean pool.   "We went for a family vacation and we got what we were looking for, the rooms are close by, and the pool is just next to the rooms so it made it easier for us to check on the kids who were swimming. They dont have kids swimming pool, but Pauline made it friendlier for them by providing floaters for kids which helped a lot. Paulie is a nice and sweet lady who try by all means to accomodate her guests and made them feel welcomed, she welcomed us personally when we arrived and came and wish us a safe trip on the last day. I recomand this place for anyone who want to have a peace of mind and a good relaxing time away from the noise."

There was only one problem - the toilet was leaking - otherwise very nice. The views of the Magalies Mountain range were spectacular! Thank you Pauline - we will be back!"

  "At La Bastide you can enjoy beautiful views of the Magalies Mountain and forget about work and worries. The owners of La Bastide are very hospitable and can give you great advice on which trips to do. Also for our three kids, ages 11, 12 and 15 it was a great place to be. They enjoyed the small pool and played around with the owner's dog. Our son of 15 even said he did not miss his computer games for a second, which is a miracle. I understand that there will be Wi-fi shortly though. Location of La Bastide is great: close to a beautiful Big 5 Safari Park and other things to do, like hot air ballooning or golfing. If the view does not relax you, there is a beautiful spa around the corner. Compared to other places in the area, the prices at La Bastide are very good. Reason enough to recommend this guest house to everyone and start dreaming about our next trip from the Netherlands."
