Montrose Cottage

Montrose Cottage is a comfortable cottage situated on the farm, Brandwag, just outside of Hartenbos. The cottage offers comfortable self-catering accommodation ideal for a family of four.

This rustic farm cottage has a large lounge with a dining room table and fireplace which leads onto a fully equipped kitchen which includes a bar fridge, microwave, cutlery and crockery. There is no oven or TV and the kitchen leads out onto a patio with a braai area, table and chairs for alfresco dining. The patio offers spectacular views of the surrounding Swartberg Mountains.

The farm offers the ideal area for mountain biking and guests can visit one of the surrounding game reserves. The property is ideally situated a short drive from the beach in Hartenboss and Mossel Bay is also just a short drive away and offers a casino, many shops and restaurants.

"Montrose Cottage is delightfully rustic, had everything we needed and expected, and was very easy to find. The bed was very comfortable, the towels luxurious, the bathroom spotless, and the kitchenette more than adequate with a small fridge and a microwave. (No TV, no stove, but no loss.) On the stoep is a braai area with wood provided. The old furniture is very interesting, as are the pictures on the walls, and there is a bookshelf for those who like reading. Alex and Annetjie were wonderful hosts, spoiling us with rusks, fruit, coffee, preserved figs, fresh milk, even finding us an iron when we needed one. The cottage is hidden away in greenery and completely private - the only observers are a few friendly cows behind a fence. The starry jasmine covering the cottage must be stunning when it flowers. I just wish we could have stayed longer."
