Ashbourne Hazyview

This beautiful rock-clad home perched on top of a hill, with its four tastefully decorated generous en-suite bedrooms, overlooks the Sabi River Valley, Drakensberg Mountains, and the Kruger National Park.

Situated around a central courtyard, each room has a private entrance and verandah, with pristine indigenous trees surrounding the lodge. The open end features a swimming pool with views right across to the Kruger National Park, while the west view takes in the Drakensberg and foothills from Long Tom to the three rondavels, and up the Sabi River Valley.

The two buildings on each side of the courtyard accommodate two spacious bedrooms, each with private bathroom, entrance, and verandah. The lodge is located on 33 hectares of the most diverse and unspoiled indigenous bush, offering outstanding bird life. We also have two wonderful Great Dane dogs; their size might be intimidating, but they absolutely adore our guests and are extremely lovable and friendly.

Conveniently located just 4 km from the village restaurants and pubs and 14 km from the entrance to the Kruger National Park, Ashbourne is perfectly situated to explore the Lowveld. The finest restaurant in the area is situated right next door, as is a health spa, and white water rafting, hot air ballooning, quad biking, and Africa's longest tree canopy cable slide are all within a few kilometres.

The bottom of the farm leads down to the famous Panorama Route to Sabi, Pilgrims Rest, Blyde River, and God's Window. Other attractions include two golf courses, hiking, and birdwatching.

  • "Awesome getaway experience"

    29 January 2019

"Ashbourne is a hidden jewel. The views, the location, the generosity & love that we experienced from the owner Rob and his wife is beyond imagination. From the second we checked in we felt like family. We were taken care of all the way. The suggestions on what to do and where for entertainment was an added personal touch. We were not simply given brochures but were given expert advice by Rob. This was by far the best holiday destination. Im definitely going back for more you can count on that."

It was the first that I had arrived at a B&B very late at night and was greeted with a friendly smile, and an understanding of the road we had travelled to get there! "Wow! Ashbourne Hazyview is a very quiet, relaxing place to be, with Rob and his wife Don. They are good business partners who knows how to run a business, they know how to treat each and every individual to fell welcomed, its a nice place to be every holiday. Their entertainment skills are very good, how they handle every situation, they are excellent. My suggestion is a TV in each room at least to be in touch with the world when you are relaxing."
