Perched high on the hilltops to the west of Hazyview, you will find a little hideaway called Eagles Nest Chalets. Set on 65 hectares of pristine indigenous bush-land, the lodge offers 12 fully furnished units all with panoramic views of the beautiful lowveld.
The accommodation provides the ideal central retreat from which this area can be explored. Facilities include a spectacular swimming pool where guests can spend hours enjoying the wonderful lowveld climate, and a cosy boma area ideal for group functions and braais.
The nearby panorama route offers the traveller beautiful scenic surroundings, waterfalls and walking trails. The spectacular Blyde River Canyon and the Three Rondavels are a must-see, along with Bourkes Luck Potholes and Gods Window. Kruger National Park is only 15 kilometers away.
"Friendly staff. Great pool. Units need upgrading in terms of paint, bathroom amendities and utensils. Hazyview tends to get very hot and the installation of aircons in units would be a great addition."
"Really enjoyed our stay - comfortable, reasonably priced and the perfect base for exploring the Kruger National Park and all the other natural attractions in the area. Enjoyed all the Dstv sports channels for the Soccer World Cup and Wimbledon!"
"Both the lady in reception and Dennis were extremely friendly and helpful. The bedroom reading lights were switched on and towels folded on the bed with a fresh leaf and flower on each. Very welcoming. The fridge was switched to 7 and I thought it might freeze our food so turned it down whereupon it defrosted and there was water all over the kitchen floor. The carports were at one end of the row of cottages and we were in No. 8 which meant alot of walking back and forth carrying our things. The cottage needs to be painted. There was no chopping board or drying dish cloth. The tv is very tiny so hard to see. The cold tap in the bath would not switch off easily. Unfortunately the sand road leading to Eagles Nest is in very poor condition."
"It's user friendly and we enjoy the warmth welcome, I think what needed to be improved is showers."
"I arrived late and left early, so all I was looking for was a nice, clean, quiet place to stay. This was more than I expected. It is not a 5-star resort, so if you're looking for creature comforts and the latest tech or appliances, then you're at the wrong place. Value for money."
"There are no recommendations to improve"
"Chalets are in need of some TLC and modernization"
"Chalet clean and all amenities working. Garden and pool neat and clean.time some money was spent on a refurb though.Dennis, the manager very helpful."
"I had quite a nice time at the Eagles Nest Chalets, the rooms was neat and well equipped and the staff are very friendly."
"We arrived to a clean and very comfortable chalet. Our hosts Dirk and Adele made us feel right at home. Ideally situated for a visit to the Kruger National Park and some of the amazing views around Graskop, Sabie and even Blyde River Canyon.<br/>The chalet was serviced every day and after an exhausting day out we returned to a clean and fresh venue. Thank you!"
"Very clean and well rub. Nice proprietors and cute little dog."
"Beautiful setting , may have been nice once but now very old and in dire need of upgrade."
"I have rated Eagles Nest a 4 as everything I was promised on the web site was delivered. Our hosts were great and the unit was well maintained, clean and comfortable.Eagles nest is not a luxury resort and it does not pretend to be. It offers quality, affordable family accommodation close to the Kruger park and other places of interest. We plan to visit again in the future."
