  • "The bliss of being on the Sabie River"

    14 July 2017

"The direction of the chalets, ie. north facing, meant that the sun was shining on the verandah most of the day. Having the river babbling close-by, contributed to a sense of being with nature. The orange orchards close-by was also different. The property is extensive and we enjoyed the variety of amenities: swimming, tennis, and pool. The grounds are well kept. I would like to visit again, this time in summer."

  • "Overall good"

    01 September 2014

"Great place to stay with your family. We stayed in 1x6 sleeper guesthouse that was river facing and quiet spacious. The only concern I found was that the rooms have double beds which gets a bit uncomfortable if you are used to your own space. We had a small baby with us so it was difficult for us to adjust her on the bed. The rooms are a bit airy so it gets cold at night."

  • "Great Service"

    04 August 2014

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Thanks Kwambali. We will definitely return."

  • "Kwambali is the place where you can unwind"

    08 April 2014

"Kwambali was a fantastic experience, it is quiet and peaceful, the accomodation was of the best and the services were great for the wives (lol, no house work). The garden was spectacular. Kwambali is based at the right spot for many adventures, some even within walking distance. Thanks Kwambali, I will most definitely visit again."

  • "Very basic"

    02 January 2014

"We had a 4 night stay at Kwambali Lodge from 28 Dec - 1 Jan. The accommodation is VERY basic. Ceiling fans not working and no airconditioner. Only one bathroom for 6 people with only a shower so not ideal for people with young children. Beds are very uncomfortable and bedding is old and discoloured giving you the impression that its dirty. As our departure date was on New Years day the staff seemed very eager to get us out as quick as possible and made a point of coming to remind us at 09:25 that we had to be out by 10:00 (which we were and most definitely didn't appreciate them being on our case). I think we paid far too much money for such "low budget accommodation", even with it being peak season they cannot justify the price that we were charged."

  • "Great location and well-equipped accommodation"

    21 December 2013

"Nice cosy bungalow set in a lovely landscape with views of the river. The kitchen was well catered and the rooms were spacious. The location really suited us as we travelled one way for the waterfalls in Sabie and the other way for Hazy View and the Kruger National park. We weren't lucky enough to see any hippos during our stay but we did see the crocodile!"

  • "Beautiful resort Sabie River"

    17 July 2013

"Very nice place. The bird life is super. I don't think the rates you pay for Kwambali match what you get. The geyser is only big enough for one person but the room is a 6 birth."

  • "July 2013 stay"

    11 July 2013

On arrival we were welcomed at the friendly reception and offered an extension of one day to accommodate the day lost. Our stay was great, accommodation wonderful and the staff always willing to assist and friendly. Will definitely return and recommend to others."

"We had a great weekend staying in Kwambali Lodge. Very central on the Panorama Route as well as the Phabeni Gate of Kruger National Park. Accommodation very clean and neat. Food at the restaurant very very good, special mention to the carpaccio, chicken livers and traditional Bobotie. Special thanks to Barrie Monaghan and staff for their hospitality and special thanks for the champagne on by daughter's birthday. We can really higly recommend Kwambali Riverside Lodge."

  • "Staying In Kwambali"

    02 May 2012

"Nice and ideal location because you are just near to Hazyview town to buy and shop whatever you want and just 30KM to Sabie and Graskop (Panorama route), just 23KM from Phabeni gate. Other than that people are very nice cooperative in all situations, cleaned and good crockery. Only in night first day I feel its bit dark but after that its normal Ideal to stay in cottages from 5-9. I really enjoy stay here and my kids also enjoy all the area, one must go and enjoy there."

  • "Great stay"

    12 April 2011

"It's sad that a place like this does not have full occupation over weekends. We had everything we needed in the chalet. The braai places was cleaned and the guards were visible. We loved our stay at Kwambali and will do it again some time."

  • "Wonderful"

    28 December 2010

"I want to thank Barry and Elma for the wonderful, relaxed few days we had at Kwambali. It is one of the few places that one can relax with no "white noise" around. The sound of the river is wonderful. Best holiday we've had in years!"
