"After reading negative comments by previous users of this establishment, I inquired of the owner about this. On arrival most of the issues had adequately been resolved and the place was safe for the kids with all the tiles and doors etc been tended to. This is not a high end establishment but has most of the basics and is comfortable. Could do with more clothing hanging space. There is only 1 old cupboard in the one bedroom and the other bedrooms only have a small bedside 3 draw for clothes. Specific kitchen implements like a bottle opener, braai tonges and a spatula were missing and some of the pots had been burned and not cleaned or replaced. Draws in kitchen need attention. I had to buy something to clean them. One I couldn't get clean. The security gate was jammed on arrival which the owner said I must just bang it to open. There was a lot of banging..., fortunately on the day we left Moses, who works for the owner, was there and he had to let us out by removing the bolts. There was also no proper braai grid which covered the braai area, only a small portable braai grid and a rectangular closing grid that was well used and dirty, so we made do with what was supplied. The pictures paint a different picture to the reality. Looking at the comments people seemed happy making use of this establishment before 2017 with only good comments. After that there seem a lot of negativity."

"Almost had a bad experience. Upon arrival nobody was there to receive us. We arrived at 2..30pm at an address that is a privately owned house. I called both Warren, Gwen who until now 22 June 2017 did not return my calls. We got panic stricken (traumatised) cause the people at that house were not there. I called Safarinow to no avail. Eventually 2 ladies ofe the privately owned residence arrived to whom we explained our dilema. They happened to know Warren and his wife Helga and was very helpful in making a few calls. After 1 1/2hrs Helga responded. (thank God) Eventually around 5pm we were fethched by a man called Jerry who took us to the right place. Some pictures on their website are from the privately owned house where we went to. (looked and felt very dodgy) Doors were not closing, no kettle, nobody cleaned as they claim. Bedding not changed."

"After the booking was confirmed and all the outstanding balance was settled, I only discovered that we were moved to another place without even being informed and I was so dissapointed. Then I had to call the owner of the place (Warren) for clarity. The place we were moved to was not bad either, we managed to adjust though it was not the place we initially wanted."

"stayed in the loft house. The most run down dirty and disfunctional place i have ever stayed. place was dirty, spiders and cobwebs one shower in shower, no shower door, the other shower door did not fit so wet floor for both showers after showering, the toilet was leaking after flushing from the pipe going into the wall leaving loo water on you bathroom floor after each flush, cockroaches under broken bathroom tiles, beds very uncomfortable, bedding threadbare, one room had leaking celling (geyser) and floor was permanently wet, other bedroom beds legs collapsed through the night. One toilet had no seat when we arrived, no towels provided (was after asking, well worn and threadbare) etc etc etc.........It was a tourist trap. The braai area is at such an angle that its barely useable, the owner was full of excuses and according to him it was not THAT bad and AFTERALL he was cheap,(sooooo..... be careful, you get what you pay for) and very little was done to adress our problems through our stay."

"I loved nothing about our stay , the walls had leaks in them and the whole unit smelt of dampness and fungal smell and sheets where dirty ,,mattress was cheap and worn out , fridge did not work , towels had holes in them , Warren told us when we arrived would see us anytime if we had problems , curtain where old dirty dusty and the railing broke upon opening the door, we had to beg and plead Warren was a now show , horrible experience rather sleep in tent next to da gama dam to do this to myself again"

  • "Absoluut Nightmare"

    30 April 2017

"All the photos of this place is not any of the 3 Cottages Warren advertises, we were in total shock when we arrived it was tiny flats! We confronted Warren about his false advertising he blamed it on his son... He didn't apologize just said he has an appointment to attend to. It was furnished poorly and the living room lounge sets smelled of dog urine. The kitchen utensils we spend over a thousand rand just to go buy the basic kitchenware to get by as this cottage had only 3 utensils. We stayed for 9 days there is no cupboards or any place to hang clothing, no change of bedsheets were given, there is no pool or lapa as advertised! We arrived to find we didn't even have a lock on the gate...We had neighbors on both sides that also complained about the false advertising this man is full of lies the above place does not exist anymore and if you book it you will see it's not even worth paying R200 a day!!"

"We enjoyed our stay at Safari Kruger Cottage. Warren (the owner) was super friendly and accommodating. The place has a very rustic and homely feel with lots of wood and natural stone. We liked that it was a little bit out of the city (4min drive to the nearest shop so not too far). Safari Kruger Cottage is also very close to the nearest Kruger gate (under 10 min). Thank you for a lovely stay."

    02 November 2015

"<p>We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Safari Kruger Lodge. Warren, the host, was extremely welcoming and very helpful. We would highly recommend this to any of our family and friends. We LOVED the general lay out and the rustic feel of the place and had great fun. We also felt very safe as the general security of the cottage was excellent.</p><p>The only recommendation that we would have is for the lounge area to be fully steam cleaned as we found it to be a bit dusty with lots of dust mites. This was only a minor issue but the over all experience was magnificent and we will definitely be returning.</p>"

  • "Not very impressee with Safari Kruger Cottage"

    07 April 2015

"<p>This establishment really let us down. The place has a stench inside and outside. The cleaner pitched for one day and we never saw him again. They claim to have DSTV but its only a few channels and caretaker explained at great lengthsthat the problem was on MNET side and he would contact them to sort it out. It never happened.</p><p>They wont see me again.</p>"
