  • "Disappointed!"

    28 April 2015

"My boyfriend and I attended a wedding on the Saturday. It was our first time away together and we stayed over for one night, so we were really looking forward to it. We checked into The Nutbush Boma Lodge before going to the wedding. From the get go, we were highly disappointed! The general state of the lodge was was not appealing at all, the trees and bushes were overgrowing, there were major cracks in the cottage we stayed in and who knows when last it has been painted. The bedroom light did not work, there was no toilet paper in our cottage, the overall cleanliness was poor. You could actually see that the linen had not been changed before our arrival as it was dusty and there were spider webs all over... We had left to the wedding and friends of ours were staying at the wedding venue, they had showed us their room and there was absolutely no comparison and they had paid R100 . 00 less for a double room, 2 adults and breakfast... Coming back from the wedding, I assumed there would be security at the gate and would allow us in as we had keys but to my horror there was no gate or no security for the lodge... and anybody off the street could just walk in as they pleased. I felt unsafe and unhappy. The bed itself was sunken in the middle and we barely got any sleep. Breakfast the next morning was fine, the only thing I can complain about that was the stale cereal, otherwise everything else was fine. The 2 men that assisted us with the cottage and breakfast were friendly, other than that our stay was horrible and we definitely would not be going back. I do not know how The Nutbush Boma Lodge can justify their prices for such a poor quality lodge and experience. And can someone please tell me where the "beach" is??? You use that to market your lodge but again that was very disappointing and misleading... according to Safarinow.com it is a 4 out of 5 star rating and that is an absolute lie!"

"Our short stay ( as we were in the area for a wedding) was very pleasant despite the rain experienced the whole day. We were greeted with friendliness. The rooms were very neat & clean. the atmosphere was very peaceful. Overall the stay was awesome."

  • "Not satisfied - the place is horrible"

    09 January 2013

"It was a disaster the place you can see it used to look good if only they took care of it. The blankets and bedding are dirty, the bed cover linen is torn and not of any high standard. We could not even sleep this was a very horable place. Please let people know. This place is horrible"

  • "Terrible service"

    20 December 2012

"On arrival there was no one at reception. When I called the number given to me, also, no answer. Eventually i found a random guy who asked me where i am supposed to stay (like i know in what room). Eventually i found a paper at reception with my details and he showed us to our room. The rooms are nice, but there was no towels, we had a kettle in the room, but no cups and saucers. The beds are creaky and the mattresses terrible. Lots of money (R900) for one night stay in Nutbush lodge. Oh and there were people partying until 11:30 with loud music on the premises. Not cool."

  • "Marvelous stay!"

    16 April 2012

"Lovely stay in beautiful surroundings! We especially enjoyed the cricket field and the cooling swimming pool afterwards! Though we only spent one night, we had a wonderful short break."
