Berg Retreat Self-catering Lodge situated in Himeville has pleasant mountain views and overlooks the Himeville Nature Reserve. The house offers ultimate beauty, tranquillity and privacy for a comfortable stay in this beautiful part of the Drakensberg Mountain.

The house consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living area with a fireplace and TV and a large veranda with braai facilities. There is underfloor heating throughout the house for those chilly winter nights.

All linen, bath towels, cooking utensils and cutlery are provided. Guests need to bring their own DStv card if they wish to watch TV. There are plenty of activities to do around the area which will suit both adults and children.

"<p>There was no-one to welcome us when we arrived and so had to phone and wait ages before we could get in to the property. Once inside there was no toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, teaspoons or wine glasses. We had received an email on our booking saying we did not have to bring all these things. On phoning the owner to query he just said that they should be there and it was the maids fault for not telling him. The patio furniture was filthy so we had to carry chairs out from inside to sit on while we braaied. Oh well!! Once we had arranged all that the stay was fine.</p>"

"I booked Berg Retreat online having never seen it before. We spent 3 nights there and were very impressed with the size and facilities that were offered. The best for us was the view over a dam which was beautiful as it backs onto a nature reserve, so buck were constantly in our sight. I highly recommend the Berg Retreat, the owners are friendy and accomodating, the property is conveniently situated to the towns and museum within walking distance. I will be staying here again on our next trip to South Africa!"

"While our stay was only one night, we made good use of the washing machine and drier, kitchen and fireplace. We found comfy beds and a spacious house with lovely views. Recommended!"
