Yellowwood Cottage

Yellowwood Cottage is set at the foothills of the picturesque Southern Drakensberg, in the town of Himeville. Because of its high altitude the area offers spectacular scenery and gives visitors a true getaway from the city life.

The hosts welcome guests to their comfortable three-bedroomed cottage. There is a fully equipped communal kitchen however guests are welcome to request breakfast. The communal lounge has a fireplace and has DStv access. Sip a sundowner, or simply relax with a view of the mountains in front of you from the lush garden. The cottage has its own entrance and secured parking area.

Himeville is en route to the Sani Pass and is well-known for fly fishing and many other outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing and river rafting. Enjoying hikes in the nature reserves as well as swimming in the rivers in Summer.

"My cousin and I booked two rooms in the 3 bedroom cottage but on arrival discovered that a couple were staying in the 3rd bedroom. We were expected to share the lounge and kitchen and a bathroom with them....complete strangers! The couple were attending a wedding locally and we were overnighting as a break in our long journey and an early start the next morning. Not an ideal situation and combination of guests as we needed an early night and early morning with good rest and they arrived home late.We did discuss this with the owners.The description on SafariNow claims secure parking. This is not the case as we were told to park out of sight as we had motorbikes etc on our vans."

"Our family recently spent two nights here and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is well equipped and have everything you need. Our hosts, Elsa & Derryl, were amazing! They made sure that we have everything we needed and went out of our way to find information on things we would like to know: hikes, fishing spots and even organised the tennis courts' keys for us. A great B&B in Himeville that I can recommend!"

"Elsa and Derryl were the perfect hosts and welcomed us with a lovely bowl of soup the day we arrived. The cottage was extremely comfortable and the fireplace was ideal. We had an incredible view of the sunset from the cottage and it was in the perfect location as the town and hiking areas are a few kilometres away. We had secure parking and both Elsa and Derryl had the perfect balance between allowing us to have our space to relax and get comfortable yet still getting to know us! Thank you for the perfect stay and lovely, delicious food! We will surely be seeing you again"
