Amorello Bush Golf Lodge and Conference Centre is located on the R22 Sodwana Road, just past the little town of Hluhluwe in the heart of Zululand and nestled below the Lebombo mountains. The affiliated SAGU golf course is a short but testing nine-hole, with 18 tee boxes set amongst the wild bush with wildebeest and antelope watching your every shot. "The place is very easy to reach and well sign-posted.<br /><br />But the price is a rip-off! R900 per couple room only is too expensive s nearby comparable places offer at least breakfast at lower or comparable rates. A slice of bread ridiculously costs R6.00!<br /><br />"

"We stayed at the Zebra Chalet from 28 - 30 April. Very tranquil and far away from reception area. The oudoor shower was a highlight, great idea. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Golf course very picturesque and challenging but needs lots of attention. My son who played a round of golf enjoyed the challenge and was chuffed when I told him that the round was on on the house as the course is under maintenance. Thanks for that. All in all great stay and was enjoyed by the whole family."

"We travelled as a group of 4 adults and one 8 year old child and had the lion and leopard lodges for 5 nights. Highly delighted with both lodges but beware! You will also be sharing with geckos and bats amongst others! Ideal base for exploring Hluhluwe, St Lucia etc. Food at the lodge is excellent as is the service from the staff. Another excellent plus point was that sandwiches were made for us to collect at 5.30am one morning when we were leaving on an early safari. Many thanks to the staff member concrened who got up very early on our behalf - it was much appreciated. One negative was that on returning from said safari some 14 hours later we were unable to get a meal or seat at the lodge as it had taken over by the Durban Sharks Rugby team for a function. Surely someone could have mentioned this to us! This meant driving back to Hluhluwe which we had driven through an hour earlier to get a meal at the Protea Hotel. Said meal was excellent but not as good as the Amarello food! If you are not expecting five star accomodation at Amarello and are prepared to share with various wildlife then you will have a superb time at an excellent venue and also at a reasonable cost."

"My family and I enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The room we stayed in was lovely, the beds comfortable and the staff very warm and helpful (and they spoke well of the owner, which is important to us). All at a very reasonable rate - we intend to visit again soon!!"
