  • "Coming home"

    18 April 2022

"The whole place can he improved as the showered used is spraying to the roof and wet everything. No kitchen in the chartle nor no private bathroom and there is nothing to do no entertainment for us or the little one to do. I will not book a date there again."

  • "Ideal for tranquility and base for game viewing in Hluhluwe."

    13 September 2019

"Loved the game viewing in Hluhluwe and the Endomeni cat project, the neighbour's waterhole, the bushbabies, and just peaceful ambience. On the downside the kitchen facilities were abysmal. 3 frying pans, no pots, no utensils, no microwave cookware...either braai or bring your own. Half the showers and the kitchen had no hot water supply."

  • "The tranquility."

    11 August 2019

"We really enjoyed our stay it is very peaceful there , the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. I would have to say the only complaint would be the lack of taps by the camping sites."

  • "A gem of a place"

    08 October 2018

"This was my third visit and as always I loved my stay. Thandi was waiting with a smile a and a warm welcome when I arrived and helped me settle while chatting about the town life. I was surprised to find a small fridge in the room, which was so convenient, even though there are two large fridges in the communal kitchen. No words can describe the peace of sitting at your little fire, listening to the bushbabies calling when they come to the feeding station.I really need to go walk in their bush camp next time!"

  • "The Bushbaby feeding was the highlight of the weekend."

    18 June 2018

"This was our second visit to Bushbaby camp and we had a wonderful weekend there. Everyone was friendly, the rooms were clean and the service was good. We could enjoy visiting the game reserve knowing that our belongings were safe in our cabins and coming back to watch the bushbabies come down to eat in the evenings was so special. I would recommend Bushbaby camp as a good economical place to stay if visiting KZN and the nearby parks."

  • "Lovely Overnight Stay"

    17 June 2018

"From the warm welcome from the owner, Pim, to the clean and comfortable cabins, the well kept gardens and, of course, the feeding of the Bushbabies, we THOROUGHLY enjoyed our short overnight stay. It was perfect for what we wanted. We will definitely be back for a longer stay soon."

  • "Amazing place to stay"

    12 April 2018

"Bushbaby lodge is an awesome place! It is not far to the Hluhluwe game reserve (about 30min). The staff is very friendly, it is clean, nice place to meet new people, it is quiet, you can eat there and we really enjoyed the swimming pool after a long day. I can just recommend that place."

    10 April 2018

"baie sentraal gelee na die KZN parke. Baie vriendelike en behulpsame werkers en eienaars. Die ablusie geriewe kan gerus na gekyk word, veral gedurede spits tyd -'n sepie by die wasbakke sal gaaf wees en ook 'n handoek reling of rakkie. die werkers kan gerus meer deur die oggend en aand skoonmaak gedurende spitstyd. Andersins 'n lekker veilige oord."

  • "Peacefullness"

    03 April 2018

"We were supposed to go there over the December holidays but my husband got sick two days before our booking. They were very accomidating and allowed us to move the booking to over the Easer Period which was great of them. For the first couple of days we were virtualy alone in the campsite which was very peacefull and relaxing. The campsite did get a bit cramped once the easter weekend arrived. It would have been nice to have our own braai area instead of the communal braai. The abilutions could be improved, maybe a screen door infront of the entrance to keep the bugs out. Overall we had a great stay."

  • "EVERYTHING"

    03 April 2018

"We were welcomed by the owner and his dogs with such a smile even though we arrived late at night. He showed us around and told us to make ourselves at home. He accomodated us for breakfast even though we did not book with a happy smile! The place is awesome - Could do with a paint job and kitchen revamp but it is camping style so all perfect with having this in mind! We will definetly be back soon!!!"

  • "Fantastic stay, great location!"

    11 October 2017

"We had a great time at Bushbaby Lodge and Camping. The (Dutch) host were very hospitable. The lodge was fine, and with enough space. It is located in a quiet area, between Hluhluwe en St. Lucia. It has everything you need, every night you can have a delicious dinner in the park's restaurant. Before that, they feed the bushbaby's, which is also very nice!"

  • "Getting into the bush"

    15 September 2017

"Game drives and being in the outdoors"

  • "Bush babies"

    21 August 2017

"Management needs to look into the braai facilities for the campers . the wind was howling and their braai area was a slab . We had to pick up bits of cement and rocks to protect the fire from the wind . Not very safe . There was also not soap in the bath rooms ."

  • "Camping at Bushbaby Lodge"

    15 August 2017

"The campsite was well equipped with Braai facilities and electrical points in good condition. The bathrooms were functional but lacked paper towels or an air drier machine. There was always hot water. Feeding the bushbabies was a highlight each evening. The walk through the forest was enjoyable, as well as having a watering hole close to the camp site where the animals could be observed, drinking. I would return for another camping holiday."

  • "Feeding the bushbabies"

"There could be taps and a braai at each camp site."

  • "Recommendable"

    05 July 2017

"Nice and very friendly.. Will recommend to everyone"

  • "Game View"

    09 June 2017

"This is a very nice camping place. At least half of the sites overlook the watering hole so I saw zebra, wildebeest, Impala and nyala. They are fed every morning so viewing is guarenteed. Another highlight is the bush baby feeding at night so you get to see them as well. The place is well maintained. Ablution blocks cleaned daily. There is communal kitchen and braai area. There is a dining room, which I did not use. Overall a lovely place. Pim and Thandi are both friendly and helpful."

  • "Pretty setting but wouldn't stay again."

    03 June 2017

"The owners are absolutely lovely and went out of their way to help. It's a great atmosphere in the place with kids having fun and lots of laughter. Very pretty. We stayed in a chalet, unfortunately there is just mud outside it (no grass) so it was impossible to not get the floor inside covered in dirt. Grass would really help this. The bathroom was quite old and very rustic. The shower head hardly got you wet. Mentioned it to the owner so hopefully they'll replace it. There was mud all over the curtains(??) There seemed to be a ton of happy guests around but for us...we've stayed in places for the same price which were basic but lovely, this was just a bit too 'rustic' and unmaintained. Each to their own, and just wasn't to our personal taste."

    01 May 2017

"Brilliant place to stay when visiting the park. Facilities are great with hot showers and a great pub. What more could you ask for. It was nice to spend time with fellow campers who didn't play music out their car. Loads of kids running around which is always special."

    18 September 2015

"We had the chalet overlooking the water hole, which was a bonus. To see the animals coming to drink at sunset was absolutely amazing and all from the covered patio of our chalet. And with the electric fence surrounding the property, one feels absolutely safe. Such a lovely serene and peaceful setting. Highly recommended."

  • "Camping with Bushbabies"

    25 September 2013

"We had a lovely 4 night stay, camping on the grounds of Bushbaby Lodge, near Hluhluwe. We were able to visit the game reserve and the Cat sanctuary. The kids made lots of friends and loved playing on the grounds. The owner and staff were very friendly. I'd definitely go back again. Only constructive criticism would be to ask the owners to sort out the taps and water flow in the bathrooms and to have the staff empty the braai and fire pits. Small details though. Loved it."

  • "Cheryl and Kylie Haslam"

    16 September 2013

"The accommodation was more than adequate and comfortable. The walks around the lodge were both relaxing and beautiful. Unfortunately the 'birding' was hindered by rain.Pim and Thandi could not have been better hosts, both at the lodge and for helping us out when our car had to go in for a breakdown. I would most definitely return and will most definitely recommend Bushbaby Lodge and Camping."
