Ubizane Zululand Tree Lodge is situated in the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve. Set in the cool, whispering tranquillity of a fever tree forest, the Tree Lodge is a truly special retreat where you will be accommodated in luxurious stilted chalets. Enjoy the quiet lounge, observation deck and a sunny tea garden where you might be visited by a family of nyalas, impalas or a pair of purple-crested loeries.
Each of our 24 luxury Tree Lodges include an en-suite bathroom, a king-size double bed with insect nets, bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a private balcony with enchanting views into the surrounding fever tree forest.
We have guards on foot and no alarm. Ubizane Wildlife Reserve boasts a variety of game, including a white rhino, giraffe, wildebeest and most species of antelope. You can view the game from the comfort of equipped game viewing vehicles, on foot for a more thrilling and wonderfully unique experience. Adjacent to Ubizane Wildlife Reserve is the renowned Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve, the oldest Game Reserve in Africa where the Big 5 roam freely in the bush. There is plenty to see in the immediate vicinity of the reserve, with game viewing being top of the list.
Meals are served in the boma - an outdoor covered dining area that overlooks the fever tree forest and waterhole (IF weather permits). At night, log fires are lit creating an enchanting, romantic, African bush atmosphere and the pan-African cuisine offers a variety of dishes in buffet style.
"The lodge is well located relative to the game reserves in the area and offers good value.<div><br /></div><div>I recommend this lodge for an overnight stay.</div>"
"Right from the time we arrived we were welcome with warmth, and helped with our luggage and directed to our room to get ready for our wonderful buffet dinner, with a great selection of food and drink. It was wonderful. Our room was absolutely beautiful - king size bed with beautiful netting. Large patio right off the room with wildlife running freely right under the room. Next day we did the 3hr Game Drive seeing a lot of different wildlife. We had a great guide giving us a lot of photo opportunities and he had a great sense of humour! After the drive they prepared a great buffet Breakfast. What can I say, they looked after all our needs. Sure wished we were closer to take advantage of your place again, but a bit far from Canada."
"Friendly and fun staff.Clean and beautiful accommodation."
"Brilliant setting, staff and accommodations, I'll be back !"
"Two days of heaven, really. The game drives were fantastic - lots of animals, and Hamilton knows something interesting about every single one of them. We felt almost part of the lodge after only two days, and the animals come right up to your hut - we walked straight into a nyala after dinner one night. Dining in the boma was also really great - and I can just imagine it being even better in winter, when the heat has died down and there is a fire to huddle around. I hope we can go back soon!"
"My husband and I took our two teenagers to Ubizane for a break in the bush. We arrived with the most divine welcome by Hannah and it just got better from there. The service was superb, nothing was too much trouble and we really felt like we'd made real friends. Hannah's hosting skills are superb. Lance the chef is a really super guy and his food is great too, even going the extra mile to make us high tea in the bush and mushrooms for breakfast especially for our son. Hamilton our ranger was fabulous and really made such an effort and it carried on from there with all the staff. The Tree Lodge was lovely and private. This was our second time back and we'll definitely be visiting again."
"The staff went out of their way to ensure all our needs were met. Great to watch the buck feeding between the chalets. Will definitely be back!"
