    17 October 2016

"I stayed at The Workshop during the TransAfrika bike race. I arrived quite late and the owners made me very welcome and I ate dinner with them and had some good conversation. After days of cycling across South Africa I really appreciated the human contact and it was one of the highlights of the whole trip."

  • "Good value for money!"

    10 October 2016

"We were welcomed by the friendly owners of the Workshop. They were extremely helpful and caring. We appreciate the firewood and utensils they had ready for our 'braai' that evening. Accommodation was very clean and tidy - beds comfortable and warm. If we had to stay longer, we would preferred a shower instead of a bath, but for one night we could cope. Thanks to Cedric and Betty for making us feel at home in Hobhouse."

  • "An Ideal Home away from Home"

    13 May 2016

"For us The Workshop is 5-star. It is beautifully decorated and fitted out with everything one could want after a long journey. There was even a plate of homemade biscuits waiting for us to have with our tea or coffee on arrival. Later Cedric brought us an excellent, tasty bobotie and delicious green salad for supper.<div>It was a surprise to find that Cedric has a small restaurant on the property where one can stop for tea or a light meal if traveling on the R26. (No pets allowed in the restaurant though.)</div><div><div>Another reason it is 5-star for us is the cottage was fully fenced as we travel with our two dachshunds that soon made friends with Cedric's dogs. </div><div>Chris and Sonia Bacon</div></div>"

    22 March 2016

"The Workshop is a bit on the basic side, but very clean and comfortable, and the hosts Cedric and Betty went out of the way to ensure we had a lovely stay. As we didn't feel like self-catering, they provided the most delicious meals for exceptionally good prices. Cedric's Oxtail stew is a marvel. Would highly recommend The Workshop if you are looking for a country stay at affordable rates!"

  • "Serendipity"

    07 January 2016

"Serendipity means a pleasant surprise on an unusual find, and that was exactly what we experienced when we arrived at the Workshop. Cedric and Betty went out of their way to cater for our dietary requirements.<div>After we unpacked and settled, Betty invited us to join them in the main house if we so wished, the evening turned out to be a lekker kuier and we soon felt like family.</div><div>I have to add that Cedric has an extraordinary talent in many an art medium, and admiring his different art pieces was a real treat.</div><div>I can with full confidence recommend a stay at The Workshop to any wary a traveler.</div>"
