  "The cabin was neat and clean with a fireplace that was needed as we arrived in the rain and the electricity was off but was restored later.It had a coffee station. A 2 plate stove with a little oven, a fridge. Soaps and towels were supplied for the shower.A comfortable bed with an electric blanket.Hiking and the views were incredible.The place can do with a bit of upgrading as the chairs at the counter table looked odd and the 2 armchairs cushions needs a bit more foam in them"

  "Roads not the greatest but from the moment of stepping on to the ground we felt relaxed, almost like coming home I would say. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Edge and would return again.Food very good, a little too much salt for my liking but overeall the meals are good.Staff very friendly and helpful, accommodated us an extra night as we did not want to leave yet !!"

  "We arrived with the clouds so low we could see only about ten metres ahead. Our cottage Pear was lovely and warmed by an oil heater and wood stove. Supper in the restaurant in front of a roaring fire soothed my soul. The next day the sun came out to chase the clouds away and revealed a spectacular view. The Edge is an amazing place to stay."

  "Stayed at The Edge Pear Blossom cottage.This cottage was very neat and cosy with all the essentials. Comfortable bedding, indoor fireplace, hot water. Just note that the garden cottages are not located at the cliff edge but on the other side of the road in the forest, so no view, but still very peaceful and pretty"

  "It's my second stay in the same cottage. Warm and cosy, the bed is comfy and everything is fine except the bath and kitchen towels, many of which are rather well worm and have holes in, like the last time I was there. That's my only complaint!"

  "Very disappointed with the accommodation and the restaurant for the money we paid, which incidentally was the most expensive after traveling throughout SA for a month from George to Hermanus and Kleinmond, to Cape Town, to Paternoster, to Paarl, to De Rust, to Rock Cottage outside Pearston, and then to what we thought would be the highlight of our trip, The Edge Mountain Resort.<br/>The self catering unit (Firefly) had substandard utensils including badly cracked mugs, unheard of in this industry. The dish cloths were very old and grubby.<br/>The restaurant service took almost an hour to deliver when there were hardly any people there, and one meal had to be sent back as it was appalling. The units were not serviced and only if we asked for it would they come and service.<br/>Understandably it was very quiet and the restaurant was closed, I guess due to lack of clients, and the following day later in the afternoon there was no one there, not even for a hot chocolate, I guess our rates should also have been adjusted due to poor and lack of services.<br/>The place is very beautiful (Hogsback) but I guess due to the unsatisfactory experience, the adverse weather was all we needed to leave one day early sacrificing R1300.00.<br/>It would be very difficult to recommend this resort to anyone."

  "The town was cute and the place we stayed at was spectacular. We arrived late and plans were made so that we could get to our place. This was amazing and very helpful. The place also sent someone to help us as we got stuck on a mountain. Very friendly and helpful. The view was also amazing and the place was extraordinary. We had everything we could have possibly needed and had a ball. Will stay here again in a heart beat."

  "My husband and I had a magical weekend away in Apple Tree cottage at the Edge. The accommodation is set in the most beautiful gardens. We enjoyed wondering the gardens, the labyrinth and the amazing view site. We received great service from reception and enjoyed the hot chocolate and playing cards around the fire in the restaurant. We were able to enjoy a delicious meal on Friday night at the restaurant on site without having made a prior booking. This trip we only visited the Big Tree accessed from away with the Fairies (awesome outdoor bath! ). As on previous trips we had compkeyed the other hikes and the misty weather made everything an extra challenge. We loved our weekend in Hogsback and would recommend the Edge to anyone."

  "The views are spectacular!!The accommodation was nice, clean and cosy. The food at the restaurant was average.Upon our arrival on 31/12/2014, the receptionist told us that our booking and payment were not received. The accommodation we booked and the deposit paid was not acknowledged. We booked a specific chalet at The Edge. We had to settle for something less, although we did receive a bit of a discount on that garden rondavel. Although I showed the receptionist the booking and confirmation on my Ipad, the lady still kept to what she said.The next morning (New Year's day) SafariNow confirmed the booking and payment and contacted The Edge. When we checked out, we were told (by a different receptionist) that the booking and money were received on time from SafariNow.I am very greatful of the great and speedy intervention from SafariNow in this regard! Especially on New Year's day!"

  "We stayed in the Edge self catering ronadavel which sleeps 2 in a king size. The view was spectacular, the rondavel immaculately clean and the location wonderfully secluded, even though they have a number of cottages in the area, not once did we feel like we had any neighbours. The perfect romantic getaway."
