  "We visited the lodge for 3 nights on the Easter Holidays, looking for tranquility away from JoBurg. This lodge had everything what we needed - friendly host/hostess, clean and neat houses with beautiful garden where our daughter and dogs can run around, stunning Karoo scenery, fresh milk and delicious Karoo lamb. Nici and Gerald were so kind and they even took us to the farm tour. We enjoyed hunting real eggs for Easter. Really amazing place to stay and we will definitely come back!"

  "We were looking for something out of the city noise and relax from our daily rat race, this is the perfect place. We could see the stars every night, have a braai and rust relax, the beds were comfy, the towels are soft, Jan is very friendly, and you have a real feel of a working farm, without being involved. Nici is always responsive to my messages, thank you for sharing your little heaven on earth with us. We will definitely come again. I would also like to mention the stars, the sunrise and sunsets! It looks like it was Photoshop, we had the dogs coming around and also 'n little black mother pig with her little piglets. We loved it thank you!!!"

  "I questioned my idea of stopping that far off the highway - turned out to have been a fine decision. The cottage was clean, inviting and well equipped, the Karoo was wonderful, the access road was great, the little extras like fresh milk, rusks, tea and coffee were unexpected but very welcome. All of this was outshone only by the warm hospitality of Nici and Gerald. Already planning a trip to get back there for a longer stay."

  "The host were super friendly and helpful, we received numerous small surprises in the cottage that we did not expect. The farm is absolutely beautiful. We had a special guest, a beautiful little bird that made its nest on top of the kitchen cupboard. I would definitely want to stay at this charming place whenever I visit this area again."

  "What a fantastic experience! If you want farm then this is it. Nici went the extra mile, from the chocolates, milk and water in the fridge, to the rusks for coffee. Meeting the animals just made it so much more... from the huge Irish Wolf Hound Abigail down to the pig who with some encouragement allowed us to scratch her tummy! Peaceful, clean pure farm. Loved it! Check moon phases for visit, the stargazing experience was breathtaking."

  "The area is beautiful and the night sky is absolutely amazing! The accommodation itself is everything you could hope for, and close enough to main farm house yet still very private, as well as being very well equipped. Gerrald is very hospitable and a great guy, it's a shame we never got to meet Nici! We would highly recommend this spot, it's perfect if you want to experience the beauty and peace of the Karoo, and if you're travelling between Joburg and Cape Town it also makes for a very convenient stop-over. We were only there for one night and really wish we had more time... We will definitely be going back!"

  "Dankie Gerald en Nici vir 'n wonderlike vreedsame en rustige verblyf in julle Cottage. Wat dit so lekker maak is dat daar net een huisie is. Dis regtig 'n geval van die stilte wat raas! Om op so 'n groot stoep te sit en na die sterre kyk bring mens so na aan jou Skepper! Dit was heerlik om na 'n warm lang rit die vrieskas oop te maak en daar is ys! Die vars melk, beskuit en koffie was 'n bonus. Volgende keer kuier ons vir 'n minimum van 3 nagte! Wonderlike plek wat ek enige tyd kan aanbeveel. Dis 'n lieflike 12km grondpad na die plaas en so veilig. Ons het met oop deure geslaap! Moet asseblief nie verder ontwikkel en uitbrei nie.."

  "The two of us spent last night at Akkedisbult cottage as a stop-over on our way back to to Johannesburg - and loved it. It gave us just what we were looking for - absolute quiet and darkness at night, but with heavenly starry skies. We watched the sun go down over the horizon from the stoep, heard the creaking of the windmill, and were amazed at the bird life in a such a barren place with few trees. Later we had a braai at the open fireplace on the verandah with wood provided by the farm and that burned like crazy. Slept with the curtains open it was so dark. I feel like I've acquired another tiny piece of our country, one not often visited. Kim"

  "We wondered about adding an extra 12km detour on dirt road after a long drive from the Cape. But it was well worth it. And the farm road was no issue for fully laden Renualt Scenic as we took it easy and viewed in some of the scenery and wild life along the way.<div>The cottage is spacious and has a cozy farm atmosphere. Nicci and Gerald have furnished and kitted out to the highest standards. But is was the many personal touches that made us really feel at home and sorry that this was just as stopover.</div><div>Making use of the braai facilities on the vernadah is a must.</div><div>If you want perfect quiet and a chance to really gaze at the stars this is the perfect spot. We'll be back!</div>"

  "This venue is totally underestimated. The mere 12km is well worth the journey and the dirt road is easy for any vehicle. The peace and quiet and natural beaty is undescribable and must be experienced to appreciate it. Professional Nd friendly hosting from Nicci and the cottage is well equipped with DTSV for the kids, excellent fire wood, as well as fresh milk, rusks anx muelsi. Most importantly the starry night above your head is something any parent has to let their kids experience at least once.<div>In summary, this place is not just a overnight venue, its destintion to enjoy true tranquility and natural beauty.</div>"

  "Quiet, restful, absolutely unique! There was not one thing that we needed that was not available.Rustic farm life including buck with "a touch of class" to be sensed in the furnishings and kitchen utensils as well as the thoroughbred farm dogs.I have not seen as many stars in the sky as I did here. In the stillness one can almost hear the stars twinkling.We were welcomed with chocolates and cleaned prickly pears in the refrigerator, but left alone to enjoy perfect privacy. Would love to go back for at least a week to fully appreciate and revel in this beauty."
