Hopetown Accommodation

Hopetown ACCOMMODATION offers comfortable and private accommodation in three fully equipped cottages on the N12, South Africa.

It is ideally situated about halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town - just 120km south-west of Kimberley. Hopetown Guest Cottage is situated on the edge of town and easy to find location when entering the town. We offer three different size cottages for couples, small families and large groups. Each fully equipped, private with Wi-Fi, DSTV and BBQ facilities with secure parking behind electric gates.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner can be arranged on request.

Hopetown lies at the edge of the Great Karoo on an arid slope leading down to the Orange River, named by the great explorer Colonel Robert Gordon in honour of William Prince of Orange. The Bushmen called this The Great River, Nu Gariep, as it carries 23% of the total water run -off of South Africa to the sea.

Hopetown serves the surrounding fruit, stock, wheat and potato farms. The Gazella Game Reserve, on the banks of the Orange River, provides sanctuary for gemsbok, eland, kudu and springbok. The ultimate outdoor experience in the vicinity includes white-water rafting, game-viewing, bird-watching and hiking.

"Hopetown guest cottage was perfect for a night. Its spotless and has an amazing shower and comfy bed. Checkin and checkout were super quick and easy. I was impressed with the small touches such as rusks, yoghurt and cold water in the fridge. Id definitely stay there again."

"Most probably the best sleep over place to use, the air-con was the best for me after a hot day.The host and hostess are the best.Very cleanand neat, soft bed, the rusks are most welcome with the first coffee.Recommends it fully to anyone.Very secure parking."

"Alhoewel Hopetown vrek warm was,is die akkomodasie uitstekend, skoon, netjies, ruim, veilig en baie gasvry!daar was braai geriewe,met hout ens en alles wat mens nodig het.
