Houtkapperspoort cottages are created from Table Mountain sandstone and timber, combined with the most modern construction techniques. A more tranquil setting no one can ask for.
With 16 charming, fashionable and superbly appointed Self Catering cottages, Houtkapperspoort Mountain Retreat can offer a variety of cottages for our guests to choose from, depending on their requirements or needs. We have a choice of One Bedroom and Two Bedroom cottages with either one or two bathrooms, or Three Bedroom cottages with either two or three bathrooms.
All our Self Catering cottages offer tasteful furnishings, TV, DVD players, bed linen and towels, pergola covered veranda, barbecue, daily basic cleaning service, fridge, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Cooking facilities include a four plate electric/gas stove with an electric oven and a microwave. Most cottages have air-conditioning and some have fireplaces.
Facilities at Houtkapperspoort include 24-hour security control, tennis court, outdoor swimming pool, childrens play area, some cottages with ADSL lines and WiFi available at the office, DSTV (Hotel Bouquet), DVDs for hire, safe, parking bay, and magnificent mountain paths.
Our Self Catering cottages are set in spacious, meticulously landscaped grounds, and are perfectly suited to anyone with a passion for nature, fresh air and open spaces.

"We had a lovely holiday at Houtkapperspoort despite the inclement weather. The cottages are well supplied with blankets and heaters. We were disappointed that there was no wifi in the cottages as advertised and they desperately need better signage on the Hout bay side of the road after dark, but other than that - very good. Have already recommended to family."

"Our stay at Mountain Retreat was absolutely amazing. At first I thought it was going to be my husband and I, but the babysitter's last-minute cancellation made us change our reservation to include a two-year old. What a surprise that they quickly made arrangements to put a giant cot with beautiful linen in the room....amazing service and accommodating personnel. The cottage we were in was beautiful, clean and very private. The braai area on the shaded verandah was very useful, and so was pretty much everything in the unit. All things needed for self-catering was there, and more. We were elated at the DVD selection at reception - perfect for kids! The swimming pool is in a beautiful fenced area and the grounds are littered with trees, flowers, and beautiful patches of grass. I kept saying that this would be the perfect spot for a family christmas. I WILL book here in the future, more than once, and intend to become a repeat customer. We've travelled a lot, and this place by far exceeded any other accommodation we stayed in. To top it off, the resident springbuck and guinea fowl was a treat. Thank you to all the staff that made us feel treated and welcome."
