  • "NASTY SURPRISE"

"Friendly hosts and some attempt to please (fresh fruit, milk) but directions were faulty and it was a nightmare to find this place at night. Parking does not feel secure - especially with neigbouring younsters walking about. Walkways are uneven and unlit - a nightmare especially for our parents. The braai had not been cleaned after the previous guests and not in the 3 days of our stay. Kitchen cupboards are all open and everything had to be washed to get rid of dust before use. The carpet in the lounge oozed the smell of dog and there was poo a few days old on it on our arrival. There is no fan and should you dare open a window the mosquitoes and smell of dog doodles will get you. The warning about the steep staircase was given, but this staircase is not according building regulations and a serious danger. Balustrades on the upper floor and decking is not safe. Overall not a pleasant stay. Pity as this place really has lots of potential."

  • "Not that great"

    20 March 2014

"The family were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, but the cottage was dusty, linen had seen better days a long time ago, and the 5 resident dogs can be overwhelming (and not in a friendly way). My dog did not enjoy staying here, and I wouldn't return. (Plus solo travellers have to pay double rate.)"

  • "Poor"

"The unit was filthy when we received the keys. The oven and stove and cutlery had to be cleaned by my wife. The braai facility is rotten with no equipment for use with the braai. I had to buy neccessary equipment. The unit need a shower or better facilities for bath and the hand shower was leaking extensive causing the bathroom floor to be wet after a bath. A shower is definately required for olde people. The garden was in a poor state. If there was in other facilities available I would have moved out the next morning. The owners also atvertise a bar facility atlthough we were not told about it. We met the owner Jaqcui for the first time when we were on our way to leave back home. Will not recommend the place to any one. Also, the place is not identified proberly and it took me a vouple of phone calls to find the place. I will not rate it higher than a one star and for that reason the price are to expensive."
