Watervale Lodge provides accommodation, outdoor activities and delicious home-cooked meals in a tranquil, secure, and beautiful country setting in Inchanga, halfway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg, close to the N3.
The comfortable en-suite rooms inside the Main Lodge and the outside en-suite rooms, as well as the log cabins with separate ablutions, carry the flavour of Africa, and are located in a quiet and beautiful African setting.
Campers are welcome and can camp in the grassy areas close to the log cabins and ablutions or anywhere else on the 25ha surrounding the Lodge, all of which are securely surrounded by an electric fence.
Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the abundant bird life and take a walk in the grounds where you may be lucky enough to encounter some of the small wildlife at Watervale, such as Oribi and Duiker.
A few Hamerkop families have also made Watervale their home.
"Loved the farm feel..From geese to horses birds"
"We had such a great stay at Watervale Lodge. Beautiful tranquil setting and hosts that catered to our every need.Thank you for having us. Watervale Lodge is highly reccomended."
"the overall cleanliness of the property should be looked at"
"Most filthy place I've ever seen in my entire life , mudy..worst than a pig sty. Shower looked like it hasn't been used for years, water doesn't drain away on the sink. The only star i would give is a " DISASTER ""

"The hosts: Niels and Mary were absolutely delightful and made us feel exceptionally welcome. The great breakfast served, was of the highest quality and standard. For these 2 comments 10/10.The cabin itself was as expected, comfortable. But the advert was misleading. We understand that the hosts are in the process of upgrading, but we were shocked to see the facility especially on arrival. Also that the very basic ablution block and kitchen are "outside", would have to get past the dog and monkeys(felt unsafe, uncomfortable). It would be helpful to have more photos available to make a decision."
"The host was a very friendly and accommodating gentleman but I am afraid the facilities are in dire need of some attention. It is a pity as the lodge must have been a beautiful place in its heyday.I was also expecting a good home cooked breakfast in the morning but unfortunately it would only fall into the grease pit category."
"Great place! We were made to feel incredibly welcome at this charming B&B. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Monteseel."
"A very relaxing environment, peaceful with beautiful surroundings. Louise and Dez are wonderful people and warm welcoming hosts. A home away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we'll definitely be going back soon."
"I would highly recommend this lodge. it is peaceful and comfortable. You feel right at home. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. Even the little farmyard animals are friendly and welcoming! Goats that just like to get their heads scratched is not something us city folk are used to!I hope to be back soon!"
"Perfect over nighter. Rustic but has everything you need. Friendly host."
"Had a wonderful time"
