Jacobsdal Hotel is located in the small farming town of Jacobsdal in the Free State. The area is rich in various crops, such as grapes, potatoes, lucerne and groundnuts. The town is now home to 6,500 inhabitants and was founded by Christoffel Jacobs in 1859. Diamonds were discovered in South Africa in 1867, and the most sedimentary diggings were done in the Jacobsdal district.
Jacobsdal Hotel is lovely hotel with seven well-appointed bedrooms. The rooms are fitted with a TV and linen is provided. The rooms are clean and have either double or single beds. The hotel also offers a bar and a restaurant on the premises; this is a lovely hang out place for those who wish to interact with the locals.
"I do not know how the previous reviewer gave 4 stars as the accommodation we had is not worth one star. The wash basin was blocked and dirty, with the toilet cracked. Will not stay there again."
"So unique, the great and friendly service of the young lady and just what a tired soul needed. In the midst of the jewel of a town where history drips from the walls makes it the place to return to."
