Veenwouden Guest House is situated in the middle of the town Jacobsdal in the Free State. The old country house was built in the early 1900's. Here guest can enjoy bed and breakfast accommodation in a peaceful environment.
The five rooms each have bedding and towels provided and are located in and outside the main house. The rooms surround a swimming pool ideal for hot summer days. A continental and English breakfast is served daily. A small conference can also be hosted and catered for at the guest house.
The town has a rich historical, as it played a huge role during the Anglo Boer War from 1899 - 1902. Come and enjoy the peacefulness of the country side with no bright lights, city noises or any other interference. At night experience the clear skies with stars you could almost touch.
"Our host Miranda was very warm and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and we slept well. We like to explore the road less traveled and Veenwouden was no exception. We look for interesting accommodation to stay at and Veenwouden didn't disappoint. If we'd had longer the story of Miranda's home would have been worth stopping longer for."
"Baie lekker gebly by Miranda. Kamer baie skoon en gesellig.die review wat 2015 opgesit is glad nie waar! Geen water probleme!"
"The house was ok, but we expected it to be much more attractive. The mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable. Next morning there was no running water. The house is very spacious, though and offers basic facilities. The town was very disappointing - shabby and neglected, and the only more or less decent eatery is the Kanon - De Vat is little more than the local drinking hole. The breakfast mentioned by Veenwouden was not on offer and we stopped over at the Kalahari Lodge near Kimberly for breakfast."
