  • "lovely places, noisy neighbours"

    02 September 2018

"we stayed in Bush Lodge 2, was lovely with everything we needed, super comfy beds, and braai area overlooking fynbos where we could watch the birdlife. sadly our neighbours were very loud and noisy, even playing loud music in what should have been a relaxing, quite space, and from early evening till late at night, making it impossible to enjoy the bird sounds and would be tranquility of the area . however after a lovely mtb ride the next day, we recovered our senses of humour. the staff are wonderful, super helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was great."

    13 July 2016

"What a great surprise, the cottage was stunning, with a feeling of being in the middle of the bush. The riding trails were perfect for the boys & I, great single track & well signposted & maintained, the eland, blesbok, zebra & springbok were a bonus on top. An awesome getaway, we'll definitely be coming back again!"

  • "Haven of tranquillity"

    21 April 2013

"This is a great place to spend a night or two. Staying at the guest cottage, you could be deep in the African bush, yet you are only a short distance from the main road, and only an hour or so from Cape Town. The staff are delightful, from the friendly and efficient Baby Rose to the trainee guides (and their instructor) who take guests on walks or tractor rides to learn more about the San people, their culture and medicinal herbs, and the environment. The restaurant is excellent and many people simply drive out from the city for lunch. It isn't open for dinner, though, so if you self-cater, bring food. The cottage is comfortable and has all the basics. Bring a torch."

  • "Disappointed"

    03 April 2013

"Great idea of a 'bush camp', but it would have been great to have been able to make a warm cup of coffee after travelling long hours. On the web page it is only the bush house that is advertised as 'solar heating' and on the 'features available' nothing is mentioned about'solar only' or 'bring your own camping equipment'. The tent no.2 that we were given was not in a good condition - the little solar lamp was out of order, the flaps/zips have been torn from the wind, the bedding smells like sweat and the tent leaks water! The female toilets doesn't have a hand towel (but the men's side does?); also no sanitary bins are provided - this is a basic addition to any ablution facility? VERY disappointing as we love the outdoors and camping."
