Belvedere Guest House

Belvedere Guest House is situated in the small town of Kakamas, just an hour drive from Upington. It offers a warm welcome and homely hospitality on the Namaqualand Flower Route.

The guest house offers a choice of staying in one of the air-conditioned Single Rooms or Double Rooms, each equipped with a TV with DStv, a bar fridge and tea and coffee facilities, and offering an en-suite bathroom with either a shower or bath. All rooms are non-smoking and furnished with either single beds, double beds or king-size beds. Breakfast and dinner can be enjoyed at the Rose Caf which is situated on the property.

Guests can relax around the swimming pool and make use of the fully equipped kitchen and braai facilities. The rooms are serviced daily and laundry facilities and secure parking is provided. Guests can also enjoy views of the vineyards and Orange River.

Sightseeing tours and 4x4 trails can be arranged on request and Belvedere Guest House is situated within a short drive of the Augrabies National Falls, the Riemvasmaak Settlement with its hot springs and various 4x4 routes.

"Friendly host. She allowed us access a few hours before the normal book-in time of 2pm. Neat gardens and pleasant pool and lapa area. Our unit, nr 9, needs maintenance though. The shower drain was blocked. The shower itself leaked water on the bathroom floor. The outside perimeter wall light shone right on our pillows through the window above the front door. Safe parking. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpfull."

"The meals are deIcious and beautifully served!There were not enough plugs in the room and kettle was only provided provided on request. We had a problem with the air conditioner but Koos had that sorted out quickly.Lovely old house but time for the wooden floors to be sanded and sealed.Kind and considerate staff but our towels were removed and not replaved."

"We stayed at Belvedere for one night. The rooms are clean and fairly roomy, but lack personality. The guesthouse is close to a main road which might be good for the business traveler, less so for those seeking a quiet retreat. Management at this establishment are fairly aloof, however the staff are wonderfully warm and friendly. Meals at the on-site restaurant were delicious and we spent most of our time there rather than in the room. Good for an overnight stop when traveling.<br />"
