Tkabies Camping & Self-Catering

Tkabies Camping & Self-Catering is the ideal stopover for travellers on the N14, just 7 km outside of Keimoes on the Kakamas National Road. Tkabies Camping is situated on the banks of the Orange River, amongst the vineyards on a raisin and wine farm.

We offer four comfortable and shaded Campsites with grass and power points, taps as wells as clean ablution facilities with hot water. Braai facilities and firewood are available on request and the indigenous aloe gariepensis plant can be seen on the farm.

There are a variety of lovely birds which frequent the area, including giant king fishers, melachites, woodpeckers and coppertail coucals. Guided tours can be arranged.

"We had a very comfortable stay at Tkabies en route to the Kgalagadi. Sadly due to mechanical problems our van needed to be towed to Pretoria for repairs. Kgalagadi never happened.Tkabies owner Dorien was so accommodating and assisted by taking me to Upington airport to secure a hire vehicle. Dorien looked in on us from time to time to see that we were fine and if there was anything more she could assist with. Insofar as the camp itself is concerned ...The ablutions were super clean and comfortable. The showers were spacious with piping hot water. Lots of space for toiletries and essentials (which many other camps ignore). The sites are spacious and well laid out with a tap and power point at each site. Its a small campsite but well worth a visit. I could not recommend Tkabies highly enough and will certainly pay a repeat visit when we are back in Keimoes.Well done Dorien !!"

"The self catering flat is clean and spacious, a family of 4 could easily stay here. Steep steps up to loft may be a problem for very small children. Dorien is very friendly and helpful. I will stay here again."
