2 Dune Park, Keurboomstrand

This is a charming self-catering holiday home situated on the Garden Route in a secure resort in Keurboomstrand, close to Plettenberg Bay with access to the Dunes Resort beach. "Keurbooms" which means choice tree derives its name from the Western Keurboom (Virgilia oroboides).

The house sleeps eight and features four bedrooms (three with double beds and one with 2 double bunk beds), two bathrooms (one of which is en-suite), an open-plan living area and TV lounge with air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen. For DStv access bring your own smart card and single view decoder (the house does not support PVR's and/or Explorer decoders). There is a sunny deck area leading onto a private garden with built-in braai (barbecue) facilities.

All linen and bath towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. There is a double carport and open on-site parking for additional vehicles and/or a boat/trailer.

Guests are free to use the facilities at The Dunes Resort being a restaurant, bar, hair salon, swimming pool, games room, play park for the kids with swings and trampolines and a car wash bay.

Activities to enjoy close by include fishing, whale and dolphin watching, river cruises, boating, canoeing, bird watching, hiking, horse riding, golf, mountain biking, cycling, bungee jumping, sky diving, game viewing and drives, wine tasting, numerous animal and bird parks, a puzzle park and an adventure park with water slides.

Access the 7km Keurbooms Beach with blue flag status at the following points; via The Dunes Resort with a whale and dolphin viewing deck, fish cleaning facility and toilet facilities, at Enrico's Beach with a sea view restaurant, a kiosk, parking and toilet facilities or at The Waves Beach with parking, toilet facilities and built-in braais (barbecues). Guests can also enjoy the beaches in Plettenberg Bay and Nature's Valley. Life guards on duty during peak season.

There are numerous historic sites to visit, two Stone Age archaeological sites (one at Nelsons Bay Cave at Robberg Nature Reserve and the other at the Matjies Cave at Keurboomstrand) showing evidence of human occupation as far back as 125,000 years ago, a thriving Cape Fur Seal colony off Robberg Nature Reserve and one of the largest seagull breeding colonies at the Keurbooms River mouth.

The villa has proven popular among families, nature lovers, fishermen, birders and hikers doing the Otter Trail from Tsitsikamma National Park (65km) to Nature's Valley (34km). An ideal stop-over for guests travelling to and from the Addo Elephant National Park (304km) and Qunu in the Eastern Cape (682km) where, on the 15 December 2013, Nelson Mandela was buried on his family's property in a spot he personally selected.
