Promethian Lodge

Promethian Lodge offers comfortable overnight accommodation situated in Kimberley. Kimberley is a perfect detour on the N12 that functions as an alternative route between Cape Town and Johannesburg.

There are 25 en-suite rooms available, of which eight rooms have double beds and 17 rooms have a double- and a three-quarter bed in each. All the rooms have tea and coffee facilities. The lodge has a lovely lapa area with braai facilities and seating, as well as a swimming pool for some fun entertainment.

Kimberley not only has a history immersed in diamonds but also features the Big Hole. The Big Hole today continues to draw attention and has been converted into an open-air museum with a rather daring lookout point directly over the hole.

Take a walk through the historical city centre and visit the museums, monuments and art galleries that grace some of the old Victorian homes.

"Welcome at reception was poor, you can't advertise DSTV if there is only one channel, could not shower because of very poor water pressure, smoking neighbors smoke travel in your room, other guests swimming half past 2 in the morning.Smelling and hard towels."

"This was a horror experience. After struggling to get a hold of the people to confirm the booking, I was phoned back and it was confirmed. Then we arrived there, and nobody was informed of our booking. Therefore, the cleaner was not there and no clean rooms were available. The only good thing about this lodge is the lady working in the kitchen."
