• "The place is beautiful."

"The place is generally beautiful however the rooms in particular, the showers do not seem like they are properly maintained. The air conditoner makes an extreme loud noise in the bathroom. In addition, we did not feel like the staff at reception were genuinely friendly at all times. I enjoyed the comfort of the bed though."

  • "A reasonably beautiful place as one transits in the journey"

    12 October 2019

"The room needed to be properly cleaned and there were traces of dirt or accumulated dust in the dining room. When expecting 2 guests, they must prepare for 2 instead of 1 - nobody wants to asking for condiments, which were not provided."

  • "Simple and efficient"

"Great room. Unfortunately the aircon was very loud and could not be kept on and the shower was either hot or cold. No inbetween setting..."

  • "Lovely people but some issues with rooms"

    02 April 2013

"The guest house owner (Pat) was lovely and helpful, and breakfast was nice, but I do think the rooms need some work. We had 4 rooms: - One of them really really really smelled of damp and mould. It has been raining continuously, but should not have smelled that badly. - The room next to it also had a slight damp smell. - The gutter leaked outside the room so there was a noise all night of gushing water. - Attention to detail needed: no bulb in side lamp, tiles missing from bathroom, many of the overhead bulbs were not working....etc. Another problem was that when we arrived we had not been put in the rooms we requested (2 doubles and 2 twins) and each room only had one towel (apparently standard for them as most people stay alone) - although we had booked and paid for 8 people sharing and we didn't arrive early or unexpectedly. The helper hadn't been briefed properly and I think Pat was distracted as her family had arrived unexpectedly earlier on. Our room arrangements were sorted out on request, however, and Pat didn't mind us making a very early start because we were going on a hike."

  • "Homely"

    18 June 2007

"I was moved from Amatola Mountain View to the owners other guest house, which is still in progress of being revamped. I enjoyed my stay very much with excellent hospitality and good food. I normally stay in hotels where I have the opportunity to sit down and work after hours undisturbed, but I must admit that the manageress established a homely atmosphere, but also privacy to be able to do your own thing.
Thank you Bev & Ross Larter for your hospitality.

Regards"
