Deer Cottage is a quaint renovated cottage located on a farm just outside of Kirkwood. This farm cottage dates back to 1890 and is home to the resident Axis Deer and Springbuck. Steeped in the history of past Anglo-Boer conflicts, it is now a tranquil getaway for flora and fauna enthusiasts. Environmental friendly solar power and gas appliances and lighting are used
The cottage is comfortably furnished and fully equipped for self-catering. The cottage has a large lounge area with fireplace and fully-equipped kitchen. The front of the cottage has a lovely lawn and in the back there is a plunge pool and a jungle gym to entertain the kids. The lapa has a fireplace and a braai area outside.
Kirkwood is a quiet Citrus farming community in the heart of the beautiful Sundays River Valley, close to the town of Addo and the northern regions of the Addo Elephant Park. Nearby activities include ziplining, canoeing,4x4 quad bike trails, Daniell Wildcat sanctuary, Health spas and world class game reserves.

The accommodation is rustic, but certainly of a good standard - a great place to rest and recover from the hustle and bustle of the big city! The staff are great - always looking out for how they can help and make your stay pleasant. Whilst 60kms from Addo Elephant Park, still close enough to have a good day in the park. Well worth making a reservation if you near Kirkwood"
