Die Rotse Self-catering Accommodation

Die Rotse Self-catering Accommodation is located on Beach Road, Kleinmond, in the Western Cape. Kleinmond, approximately one hour and 15 minutes' scenic drive from Cape Town International Airport, is situated on the western side of Sandown Bay between the Kogelberg mountain range and the rich Benguela sea current of the Atlantic Ocean.

The seafront property is located on a peaceful cul-de-sac bordering the Nature Reserve. A 40-metre stroll leads to a natural tidal swimming pool and large inter-coastal tidal zone for hours of exploring in the unique eco-system of the kelp forest. Follow the coastal path from here to Kleinmond's Blue Flag beach only 300 metres away.

The main residence of your hosts, Werner and Lorraine Pauw, is a historic building with Landmark Status, built in early 1910 and totally restored under the guidance of the Overstrand Aesthetics Committee and is known as Die Rotse. In line with the look and feel of Die Rotse there are two fully-equipped, three-bedroom apartments, known as Spykerklip and Drievis, making up the rest of the complex.

"We loved never having to get in the car. We had 4 little children and could walk to the rock pools, the beach, the lagoon and the playground. In addition, the house has a safely fenced garden at the back with a large lawn for happy family games."

"The two units make for a great family holiday. Was very nice to be close to the beach so we could walk there. one thing that perhaps could be added is an outside shower so that sand doesn't get walked into the house."

"Friendly, close to beach, two nice 'townhouses' - secure, big garden and swings for kids, but note, big house near rocks in photos is not part of the deal. Two townhouses are set slightly further back with partial sea views."

"Staying at Die Rotse was an excellent experience and is much more than just self-catering accomodation. The reception by Werner and Loraine was exceptional, their preparation of the huge and luxurious three-bedroom, fully equipped apartment was excellent, even providing facilities for the kids at the playground. Werner, thanks for the preparation of a cricket pitch, assisting the kids with fishing and the supply and preparation of the best braai snoek. Loriane, thank you for the birthday cake for Michael. The family had one of their best enjoyed and relaxed stays at a beautiful place. Die Rotse is really an excellent place to stay, relax and enjoy the view. The beach was so close and walking along the sea was great."
