Bo-Bakkies Self-catering

Situated right on the stone ridge above the beach, Bo-Bakkies Self-catering cottages offer the best views in Paternoster. These two old fishing cottages, with their thick original stone walls, were recently restored and although they are fitted with everything you will need to feel comfortable, these little cottages will surely take you back in time.

Paternoster is definitely one of the most attractive villages on the West Coast, with its white-washed fisherman cottages that lie along the white beaches, and is conveniently located only 150 km from Cape Town. Visit Cape Columbine Light House and Nature Reserve on your way to Tietiesbaai, browse through one of the local shops where you will find fine artists and potters at work, or experience true West Coast hospitality at one of the restaurants.

Paternoster is the ideal base from which to visit nearby towns like Riebeek Kasteel and Darling. Enjoy wine tasting at the excellent wine estates in the area and bird-watching in Veldrift. Visit the West Coast Fossil Park near Hopefield or consider spending a day in the West Coast National Park, which is particularly beautiful in spring, with a kaleidoscope of colourful spring flowers.

"Quaint little cottage perched on the rocks a skip and a hop away from the beach and within walking distance to absolutely superb restaurants. Very impressed with the culinary offerings in Paternoster not least the fresh crayfish that can be bought daily when the boats come in. Cottage was adequate and comfortable with a brilliant shower. Lovely to sit on the stoep in the mornings and watch the boats come in, likewise fabulous for a chilled glass of wine and watching the sunsets. Highly recommended for couples."

"The actual house is very neat and nice, the only thing I was not really impressed with was the way we were treated with the checking in. I sms'd asking where we should collect the key to check in at 1pm - and got a reply to message someone else, I did this and we decided to go to lunch while we waited for the key. The lady phoned asking where we were cause she's been driving around waiting for us and she has someplace to be, sighing and sounding really annoyed over the phone, she made us feel like we were wasting her time and she was doing us a massive favor. Considering the price we were paying I suppose I expected a more welcoming approach. So I would recommend they have a set place to collect and drop the key to make things easier with checking in. Maybe a keybox with a code or something like that.Otherwise the house itself is quite well equipped, except that It only had one wine glass and one champagne glass, needs one more of each."

"My wife and I recently spent a night in cottage #1 at Bo-Bakkies self catering cottages in Paternoster.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint renovated original fishermans cottage in this wonderful little part of the west coast! The cottage is equipped with all items needed to make you comfortable and enjoy your self catering experience . The bedroom is separate from the lounge / dining room and has an en suite bathroom with shower and toilet. There is a comfortable front stoep with Braai facilities and an awesome view of the beautiful beach just metres down from the cottage. I can recommend the Bo-Bakkies cottage for a comfortable stay in Paternoster."

"My wife and I had a fantastic time and the little house was perfectly situated for just relaxing, reading, braaing, sitting doing nothing whilst enjoying the picture perfect view in front of us from the stoep. Will be back."
